Who wins:

1) 100 meter dash
2) spider drill

1) 100 meter dash winner: Federer
2) Spider drill winner: Djokivic

3) Spider drill speed more important than straight dash (says the guy that never did a spider drill)

I remember a sports trainer comment that most injuries occur in the deceleration phase but most people train for the acceleration phase.

Therefore, the spider drill is a better indicator of tennis ability than a dash: you can't go all out in a spider drill because you have to be able to stop and change directions.

I know my two hamstring injuries did not happen during the sprint getting to the ball ... they happened after I reached the ball.

Maybe senior players should do figure 8s covering the baseline.

Murray kills Nadal in a straight line, watched them playing football/soccer
Nadal was not even close to Murray at full bolt. Also in a previous article
saw that 50m dash Murray was faster breaking Pat Cash previous record.
Fastest of all time was le Monf the real Spider.
However 20-30m dash is the most important length for tennis therefore
Michael Chang, Hewitt and other players where amazing.
Currently Kwon, DeMinaur, Goffin and even Zverev gets some crazy balls
back and hit winners from them as well.

Agreed I'm pretty sure Monfils has everyone beat! I thought I read somewhere Nadal was up there in acceleration but I can't remember where
