Federer: "All the tennis players have to bow to Nadal"

That level of arguing was to be expected indeed.

It’s true Federer never got to face a Kevin Anderson in a USO Final , but there was a time he faced a World No.42 with 0 ATP titles at the AO, Federer got to face Delpo just like Nadal in the latter stages of the USO once but that didn’t went well for Federer:( , Okurrr:p

Conveniently omitting the fact Fed had a significant back issue which took 10 MPH off his first serve and made his movement look as quick as a tortoise. Be inordinately grateful Fed was injured during the USO since I don't believe your guy fared too well in 2017 when facing him in those four matches.

The spanish whiny girls that caused the move from 16 seeds at Wimbledon were long before Nadsy boy.

You should inform yourself before you post.

Also, rampant doping in the country, government supporting dopers, high-ranking officials talking about free doping.

Also, I detest people that are culturally enslaved and defend cheaters at any price. Especially if they go for innocence before the act.

Nothing better at putting a mirror against their faces.

Nadal is small potatoes in whole this (but is part of the picture).

I'd rather judge a person for the verbal diarrhea that comes from the tip of their fingers than on what location they crawled out of a vagina

Tbh i was referring to the USO 09 where Federer faced Delpo in the latter stages of the USO and he loss , But Nadal beat Delpo in 2017 , Yes ignoring completely that Delpo was way better in 2009 than 2017 but i’m not taking the discussion seriously.Nadal v Federer in the USO slow courts in a BO5? I will take Nadal , Sadly we will never now who would’ve won if Federer was healthy.

"It's incredible, all the players on the circuit have no choice but to bow to him, only the superlatives fit," Federer said before participating in the Stuttgart tournament where he reappears on Wednesday at the circuit.

I take my hat off to Federer for acknowledging that what Rafa has achieved is extraordinary. They respect and admire each other's achievements.

it's been a few months since i visited this subforum, it seems that time has healed all fed/nadal fan angst

luckily there are plenty of people like me that are pretty damn objective.

federer is surely more accomplished, but nadal is doing things no athlete has ever done in sport and will never do again. Roger knows and acknowledges this.

like for OBJECTIVITY! show us you're out there

It would be a lie my friend if I tell you that time has healed all fed/nadal fan angst but like you pointed out there are many objective people here and hopefully we reach a point where there is less hatred and more tennis on these forums.

I allege to have money and property abroad (ask someone where that is, or google like I did)

Being obtuse doesn't make any difference to the facts.

Oh, and, it seems unbelievable to you that someone can have a Spanish property/cultural heritage AND be critical of some of the things happening in the country?

Talking about salt.

Yes, Fed will get yet another easy draw at Wimby and USO, but Nadal will still win.

The last time one of your friends tried to argue a weak draw for Federer (Wimbledon 2017), he backed off to "weak current field", and then reported the thread, but if you want, we can go through the motions with you as well.

He hasn't won a single slam without defeating a top 25 player

There is a lot more to tennis than winning slams. The total number of slams won is not the point. On average, Rafa's success rate in slams is slightly higher than Fed's - 87% - 86%.

Stopped reading after the first line. You can twist the argument using multiple convoluted logic, but slams are considered the crowning achievement of this sport. And as of today, Roger has a clear lead of 3 oneo his rival. That's the only thing that matters and maybe weeks at #1. Oh wait! Federer leads there too.

You don't like logic so you stopped reading because you want to keep the blinkers over your eyes. I understand. I don't know where you read that the only thing that matters is winning slams. I am not unique in looking behind the numbers, perhaps you'll have more patience with ESPN. ESPN has now come to their senses and soon others will see the light.

By the numbers, Nadal has as strong of a case to be the GOAT as any male tennis player who ever lived, including Federer. Nadal's 17 major championship victories rank second on the all-time list, and he's first all-time with 32 career Master's 1000 victories. Nadal also has an Olympic gold medal. His credentials are sterling.

Case against Federer?

Federer owns a record 20 major singles championships and has 10 other major finals appearances under his belt. However, it should be noted that Federer (age 36) is almost five years older than Nadal (just turned 32), and has thus just been playing longer. Longevity is to be respected, obviously, but consider that Nadal has 17 major wins at age 32, at which point Federer had the exact same number. In addition, over their entire careers to date:

• Nadal has 903 wins and 187 losses overall (82.8 win percentage) while Federer is 1,149-252 (82.0 win percentage)

• Nadal has 32 Masters 1000 wins (24 clay, 8 hard) while Federer has 27 (21 hard, 6 clay)

• Nadal has 1 Olympic gold medal in singles (2008), Federer has zero (best result silver, 2012)

The problem is that Federer is going to retire with that number and Nadal still has lots of Slams to play. Each time he doesn't win a Slam his numbers goes down.

And that's why Nadal withdraws. Be smart like Nadal. You can't lose when you don't play.
