I am disappointed for his fans, for the tournament, it's more exciting when he plays. For us players, of course we hope he's fine and that he'll recover soon to be back on the tour as soon as possible. But in the mean time, you have to admit his absence is an opportunity to go far in the tournament, because there is a great player we won't have to beat.

Federer being honest, no hypocrisy.

Yet you always call him a fraud and arrogant. It takes a more humble person to admit that a great player such as Nadal missing a tournament is a good opportunity for the competition and in extension, themselves. Other players would just shrug it off and not acknowledge the obstacle Nadal poses on the tour. He was also right in saying that a tournament is more exciting when Nadal plays.

I hope fans of either players can see that these two stars are both great for tennis.
