confirms:
--------------------------
30/04/2005 11:06 - FEDERER HAS WITHDRAWN

World number 1 player Roger Federer has withdrawn from the Telecom Italia Masters due to a plantar fascitis in both feet.
-------------------------
and btw it's plantar fasciitis (and not fascitis):

I wonder if Roger got it like I got it, from some bad shoes (NB 800 in my case, not flexible enough, check:
http://www.drpribut.com/sports/heelhtm.htm
for a good shoe flexibility test)

While sticking to Nike, he should switch to Pete's shoes, Air Oscillates, which cured me, and are still available in Europe (even 2005 versions).

Roger, check them here, I know you speak French too:)

He might also need to use some $30 Spenco orthotics, like I am doing. Even better, at his budget, he might order some permanent orthotics ($300) made.

First it was Andre. Then it was Lleyton. Now it's the Fed.

Nike must be making some **** shoes.

Did Andre and Lleyton have foot problems? I know about Lleyton's toe problems, but that could be a little bit different from plantar fasciitis.

And btw, NB is not better, good and bad models.

This is an apt point. Nike had issues a few years back with their shoes in the NBA. Lots of guys were suffering from foot problems.

Also, when they made their big run into soccer they made boots that were too heavy, then over compensated and made them too light. Voila! Athletes with foot problems.

They make a fairly narrow shoe across the board. What can we amateur sleuths determine...
