These aren't excuses. Saying that a player played poorly isn't an excuse unless they use some external factors as a reason such as the player had an unfavorable schedule, played a long, grueling match prior, or was supposedly injured or something. Federer did not play at the same level that has won him 15 slams, plain and simple.
IMO Roddick at Wimbledon was much better than Del Potro at USO, yet Roddick lost the match and Del Potro won. If Fed served at the Wimby final like he did in the USO final, he would've lost in straight sets to Roddick.
boo hoo Fed fans these are just excuses no matter how u phrase them...
you keep saying Fed played poorly or served bad when he loses ...grow up guys. tennis is a combination of all the shots. or are u guys saying he is a one shot wonder like roddick was for most of his career
Also by same logic u shud say that Fed has 15 slams mainly becos of his serve ..or his opponents lost becos of their poor service or FH
Delpo didnt appear on court for almost 2 sets becos of nervousness but still won becos he was able to rise his level .. naturally the other person wudnt continue at that high level
Its very rare to see a high quality final -- wimby Federer Nadal 2008 (though nadal didnt win in 4 sets only due to nerves)
Its not possible for a person to play at high level every match.. In fact he has managed to reach 22 straight SF becos of his consistency and poor mindset of his opponents
look at some of the matches he cud well have lost in the last 2-3 years in GS but escaped becos of his opponents lack of belief and hence nervous play
