Fernando Gonzalez to work with Darren Cahill

Juste read the info. I wonder if Cahill will make an impact on Gonzo's game.

"The ‘Bomber of La Reina’ chose australian Darren Cahill as his new coach, and they will begin to work in the preview week of Roland Garros.

Hi friends,

I want to announce that I will begin to work with australian Darren Cahill, a coach that got a lot of results with Agassi and Hewitt at their best moments and in different years. It won’t be full time because of his obligations but I trust he will help my agresive tennis with the best tactical moves of the australian school.

Currently I’m in Chile working with pysichal trainer Ricardo Lara, that is a member of the chilean Davis Cup team."

I'm surprised, Cahill is hard to get.

Looks like ESPN just lost their only good commentator (except BG).

It says it won't be full time because of Cahill's obligations, so I'm guessing that means he's still going to be with ESPN. Plus Cahill works with a lot of players - Verdasco, Hantuchova, Cirstea, basically a lot of the adidas players, down in Vegas, so the fact that he's working w/ Gonzo now shouldn't change his ability to be on ESPN.

Pretty good TW interview w/ Cahill: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eIomPY37dDo

All in all a positive move by Gonzo.

Cahill joined the addidas player development team last year,
he works with any pro player sponsored by them, that wants his coaching.

I thought Cahill had no time for coaching, he turned down Federer right?
Maybe it was about money, they couldn't agree about how to share the spoils...

Fed probably wanted a full time commitment. Cahill knew he could make as much or more kicking back in LV and working with ESPN. As much or more $$ + less pressure= better.

Wow is that for real? Doesn't the player need to pay for his services?

I wear adidas.. can i get some pointers from him too?? :)

Im sure Cahill is paid nicely by adidas. The better the adidas players do, the better advertising/tv time they get.
