Finland now officially the most populous country in the world, overtaking China..

If you are FINNISH you cannot describe your significant other as the "Apple of your eye", nor can FINNISH children try to bribe their teachers by bringing a shiny Apple to class. I have also heard there are many Windows in all FINNISH buildings.

I searched "Finnish" and ended up here. Brilliant. The swami of Suomi.

Ten **** enbergs, lahtinens, hakinens and niemenens.

Best school system in the woild. Suomi supposed to believe the finnish fertility rate jumped a few ticks in the past nine months?

A little joke before the Finnish Line. ..

'Before the date was over the girl asked her loving friend:
Are you finnish soon?'

does this mean Nadal won't be migrating overthere soon ? he is not retiring and will play for a long time ??

Nadal is still headed there to play poker where the jokeri are wild. Then he will cheer on his favorite pro hockey team, the Helsinki Jokerit.

Ah but don't worry, The Chinese aren't actually Finnish yet, in terms of being official residents of the most populous country in the solar system.

Exactly.

Even India has its work cut out given the rate of population growth in Finland.

The population density in Finland is also something to behold.

Check out the impact on population density when sureshs moves to Helsinki. It might be so severe that we all are FINNISH.

Fascinating! I took an online quiz one time that was supposed to determine your "internal citizenship," and based on my answers it came up with Finland! I guess there's a cold, snowy ice girl hiding in this desert rat! LOL! :)

Is this sudden increase of population due to the emigration of the whole *************?

Also, in population geography there is a popular saying: Given a sufficiently long timespan, we are all Finnish.

^Haha...
India was finnish the day sureshs left us for California.
And california has been Finnish for years!

So, Ccnm is hereby finnish!

I just love saying that something is finnish. Reminds me of that fred armisen character Spyke, on portlandia. So angrily non-mainstream, he raels against anything that goes the way of the masses. Shuffleboard is so over! Beards are so over! Fixed-gear bicycles are so over!

Hipsters are finnish!

Hardly , its more in the hands of the neighbor eastward as its economy is very not free due to lack of homemade energy .

are you serious?
Well, you might as well say all western countries belong to china because we need their cheaper products...

Also Russia needs to sell that oil and gas. Without buyers, what are they gonna do with it, eat it?

Merely stating the obvious.

A country cant do without 40% plus oil imports. But a country can do without some cheap imports of less necessary goods , like toys etc.

Scientists will eventually find alternative energy sources. Also, let's not delimit the importance of these according to you "unnecessary goods", after all, we're talking about a Sweden and not some poor country accustomed to not having anything. We're spoiled and can't live without our electronics, clothes etc. #justsayin'

Hinting at Swedish immigration policy?

Yeah, it's politicians fault, not the immigrants'. I have stopped caring. I intend to work for a couple more years then move to some island and enjoy the fruit of my labor in the Maldives.

I had this British colleague in the University a couple of years ago who left the UK and moved to Sweden when Thatcher took power. He vowed never to return and has been living here since. Met him a couple of days ago and he said: "Man I'm moving to India". I said, good for you, you can visit me in the Maldives anytime. Bring the family.

Interesting.

How do you find that these things materialize in a problematic way?

In my opinion, in the grand picture, Sweden is one of the most awesome countries, although, granted, I have not lived there. Just one of your "neighbors". One of the labels people over here tend to give Sweden/Swedes is "politically correct", but I don't know if I think that's such a bad thing..

You know, I'm all for multiculturalism. People that need help, have to be helped. If I needed help, I would appreciate it if someone could help me. If I were in these immigrants's shoes, I would have done the same thing, which is go to a country where my basic needs are provided and a lot more. However, decision-makers in this country have to think about sustainability, and this is were they have failed.

5 years ago, students from anywhere in the world could study in our universities for free. Now they have to pay unless they are from an EU countries. In the 80's, criminals that come out of jail were sent to spend holidays in the Caribbeans and other places as part of their rehabilitation process. With lack of finances today, that will never happen. It is a customary law that every Swedish child has to have its own bedroom, and if a family cannot provide that, the state will make sure the family moves to a bigger house/apartment. Today more and more children share bedrooms and it invades their privacy. Growing up,I would have gone insane if I had to share a room with one of my siblings. Health care is still free, so if you're a severely sick it will take care of you. But for how long? a cancer patient died recently because she had to wait for several months to be treated. It's unthinkable, some 15 years ago.

Politically correct. we have that reputation don't we! :) We'll it's slowly changing. A racist party, comprised of ex-neon@zis (they deny it of course) have recently gotten 13% of the voters approval. They're growing in numbers and are very vocal about anything immigrant-related (the non-white immigrants). Thankfully these braindead goons have a counterpart in another group of braindead goons. The leftists.

Is it a good thing to be politically correct? I believe we have to be realists. If we can be politcally correct without being totally detached from what is real, then it's a good thing. Some people are not capable of that.

Anyway, I look Swedish with a Swedish name but, my family moved to Sweden some 500-600 years ago (Valons from Belgium). It's my time now to relocate.

First , i said less necessary not unnecessary, For many ,the newest gadget equals their identity,
But they couldnt get thesethings unless there was cheap energy to produce and
ship them with.

I think you may have a slightly naive take on innovation and alternative energy solutions .
Are you serious in saying if scientists find alternative energy sources these will be used ?

One of your own countries smartest men who works in the US says thats not how it currently looks..

Are the lines outside Apple stores when new Iphone versions are launched fake?

Yes. True.

Those lines....the struggle is real!

Edit: it occurred to me you might have thought i was being a jerk when i said, "cool story bro." I was lampooning what you said by acting like the people who depend upon technology for an identity. Sorry for any confusion.
Respectfully,
Slice.

What's the population of China, anyway, and who can vouch for the accuracy of whatever that figure is?:D
