Forehand going long

Hi, I hit a semi-western forehand. One issue I have is a very high trajectory ball going long. I think one of my issues is trying to deliberately force topspin with a wrist windshield wiper action. I am just confused because when I drop feed the ball I am able to get a deep, penetrating and heavy ball but during rallies I hit the ball with a significantly higher trajectory that goes long. I am able to produce a good ball on lower balls like at the below knee level but on waist and shoulder level balls I am hitting it consistently wrong. Could it be because I am trying to put too much wrist, racquet face opening at contact?? Any tips or instructions would be useful. I would really just like to be able to hit a heavy paced balls because my backhand is currently very solid whereas my forehand is a liability and I find myself having to slow down and not being able to swing out. Should I try aiming lower like for the top of the netcord? Thanks!

You might be engaging the shoulder too early. That's my issue when hitting the FH long.

Have to remember to get that rear shoulder back on the unit turn, get the hand and elbow moving forward, and then let the shoulder follow right before impact and continuing on the follow through.

Without actually seeing your stroke, my guess is you are hitting the ball late and not out in front of your body, which is my problem when I hit high and long.
