Forehand+Serve Form Check

Hey y'all,

Was hoping to get some feedback on my serve and forehand.

Forehand:

If you look at the two time stamps below for my forehand: My elbow positioning looks wrong to me. I want to extend my elbow outwards more, right? It looks like I am clubbing the ball instead of swinging sometimes. Any insight on my elbow position or forehand in general would be appreciated.

Forehand:
(45:43 and 15:14 timestamps for two forehands to analyze)--> Those are my standard forehands

Serve:

I've gotten a good rhythm with my serve and I've been happy with it lately. But looking at the video, am I dropping my left arm too quickly? Seems like I hit better serves when I try to keep that arm up longer.

Any other tips also welcome. I know I have a high hitting elbow, might have to take a few lessons to fix it. I've had a tough time fixing it myself in the past.

You may experience this because holding your left arm up longer may give you more time to lean forward and get a naturally steeper shoulder tilt, giving you more power and room to cartwheel and accelerate up into the ball.

I think the serve looks good for the most part aside from the toss variability.

I also think your forehand looks fine, similar to Berrettini's. The "clubbing" feeling can come from catching the ball too close to you and not far enough in front.

Excellent footwork btw

Your serve is great. If it's a reliable 2nd serve and in the 3rd set, then what do you wanna change anyway?
Sure the timing is a bit fast, but everyone's different on that.
A shorter timing could lead to injuries, if you want to nit pick. Even Roddick said 'I may blow out my shoulders' when asked to serve 130mph during retirement.

For your FH you can try swinging circular, in a horizontal manner.
Imagine making a circle that's parallel to the horizon, in other words. You've got the shoulder turn, now apply it correctly.
You are always swinging upwards. Your racket drop will automatically create the upward motion, but the pace/power/direction should be forwards, and that's done by a horizontal swing.
Also, some coaches call it inside out... aim to the right more, or left of the ball a little more. Not really aim at the target. Imagine serving on the deuce side. You aim to the right, right?
but also remember to bring the arm/wrist around to finish the stroke.

And on that approach you missed, you shoulda hit DTL, at 15:15

Cheers.

Looks like 4.5 tennis.

On the serve I would focus on staying “side on”. Meaning trying to contact the ball with your chest pointed parallel to the baseline.

Keeping your hand up longer is a cue that hasn’t worked for me as a coach. Think of your left hand like pulling a lawn mower starter. You want to time it like a see saw in relation to your right shoulder. So when your ready to swing, it’s all initiated by the left side.
