Call me when Djokovic leads the H2H, because its 9-6 including 2-1 at the US Open.
As for 2019 AO, Rafa had ankle surgery in December 2018 and was instructed not to practice defense, so he could only beat guys that were easy to attack.
No wonder he didn't even make the Final of his first 3 clay events of 2019....
And Djokovic winning 10-8 in the 5th Set of INDOOR Wimbledon is not something you can brag about.
Djokovic is lucky that Thiem was able to injure Rafa at the 2018 US Open.....or else Rafa would probably won won 3 consecutive US Opens.
Beating Nadal at USO won't be a big deal for Djokovic or Djokfans, because it will be his 10th straight HC victory over Nadal.

Nadal still owns 9-6 Slam record over Novak, only because, before '11, he had a 5-0 Slam record, before Djokovic becomes Djokovic!

Repeat after me: Nadal has never defended a Slam title outside RG! That'd include AO, Wim and USO! In fact, he has never defended a HC title, period!

Do you remember what happened the last time the two met at Slam HC? Don't make me list that dreadful scoring line for all Rafans!

He defended Canada last year.

The CC roof open or not had no objective effect on the outcome of the match. But it did show a few things.

It showed that Nadal, and his team, were not very clever, not as clever as Djokovic and his team, at any rate. They announced on Friday night that they wanted the roof open. They should've never done it, because any opponent (not just Djokovic) would do just the opposite of what they wanted. Let Djokovic and his team guess. It was an easy guess, but let them guess nevertheless. When you want something, you never let your opponent know. That's the first rule of war, and sports!

What Nadal should've done is announce to the world that he couldn't care less, because he was going to take care of Djokovic no matter what! That's what a truly confident competitor would've done, he would not have offered himself a ready-made excuse to lose. Djokovic read between the lines, and knew he had won the mind battle and that Nadal wasn't completely confident, when they walked onto CC on Saturday.

All I'll say is...

So many fed fans want the slams this year to be cancelled because of the virus and safety.
Riiiiiiiiight. Don't worry, everyone totally believes that's the reason.

Because he's a jerk and Rafa's a gentleman.

I'm not cheering for the virus. I read here everyday how the US was stupid and its stupid citizens. Now those people look stupid instead. Btw beard, you are willing to risk lives to break records. Everyone should pack it up and wait for the right time instead of rushing. It's not like Djokovic or Nadal can't break records in 2021. The record is not as important as you like to think. Everyone loves Federer. He will be viewed as the greatest anyway. There's no reason to cheer for covid. It's called cheering for common sense. Pray for sad individuals like yourself that don't mind risking lives just to see Djokovic win a half ass slam.

Yesterday, new york alone had more cases than the highest country in Europe (Romania)

Stop being silly... You are not talking to a Trump supporter.

I wasn't comparing numbers. There is a rise in infections and teenagers partying on the beaches and in the bars again. It's just a matter of time. The numbers won't ever be bigger than the US.

Then why are cancel culture VIOLENT protests allowed to go on!?! Why are they not decried by the media as potential sources for covi and only kids going to the beach behaving normally during the summer? Violent protestors are killing, maiming, terrorizing major cities and they get a free pass from being a source for covi contagion. If this is about protecting people from "harm" why are violent protestors allowed to throw bricks, Molotov cocktails and bombs at peace officers, businesses and public property?
I think it's dumb too. In the beginning it was understandable, but now it has gone on for far too long. The riots I'm speaking of.

The Republican rally in Oklahoma would be a good example of the type of large scale event that should never have been given government backing under the current circumstances. A very volatile mixture of a large group of people at very close quarters, from many different areas gathered in a metropolitan area, many of whom did not "mask up".

To be fair to those rally-goers, I think if the event were to be held today, the mask-wearing rate would be much higher. At the time I think many of the people attending thought wearing masks was a conspiracy to threaten their liberty, rather than a simple and effective public safety protocol.

The disastrous outbreak in that state might be partly attributable to the rally and the protests that kicked off afterwards. Herman Cain attended the Trump rally without a mask, contracted the virus and unfortunately died a few days ago after battling the virus hard.

The best examples I have seen of how to run a tennis event safely in the current environment have been the WTT exos. They have shown you can run events, and also safely deal with quarantine-breakers effectively during the event. What we are all waiting to see is how a strict structure works for a much more scaled up event like a major.

Remember when the "scientists" told us covi couldn't survive the hot weather--apparently they got that wrong too. Hope Fauci's calls are better then his oppening day throw, that was the worst throw in history--as the manager of the Covies he should have substituted Dr. Birx--I'm sure she's got better aim--I dig her, she's sincere and I always look forward to which scarf she will be wearing.

yeah, they never did. That was when the president infamously said it would be gone in the summer because of the "tremendous heat, heat and humidity." Anyone with any brain cells could see that wasn't true because it was ravaging countries in the southern hemisphere who were currently IN SUMMER.

What the study he misinterpreted actually said was that the virus doesn't last as long when subjected to like 80 percent humidity in laboratory conditions with disinfectant present

You may remember this briefing, because it's the one where he recommended injecting disinfectant, almost like a cleaning, and bringing UV light inside the body to kill the virus

He then was so embarrassed that he cancelled the briefings for some odd 4 months or so

Ring a bell?

I'm picturing you as a 70 year old miserly piece of **** who yells at the young whippersnappers to get off his lawn and refers to anyone under the age of 20 as a millenial, so I understand if your memory is a tad foggy. Perhaps you should consider taking the MOCA. I hear the last few questions are tremendously difficult
In reply : eff ewe

Don't be fooled by the loudmouths that have been yapping like they know how this is going to end. Nor is all the pearl-clutching very productive. This will remain a highly fluid situation for the foreseeable future and the best we can do is to try to return to some level of normalcy while minimizing risks to the public.

I don't think a few outdoor events with no/limited crowd are all that risky and it seems that enough top players still agree, but we'll see.

Tell that to the Major League Baseball (MLB), the Marlins, and the St. Louis Cardinals. Covid-19 is running a muck on those teams.

No organization can guarantee 100% observance of any policy, and those knuckleheads that went out clubbing would've posed the same risks to the public in any case. The key is to penalize them to the extent others would think twice about going rogue.

The "overwhelm the ER's" is another lame un-science excuse--in NYC which has 10,000,000 people and had the biggest numbers, thousands of emergency beds were brought in and ventilators by the President and they went un-used and unappreciated by their puppet-mayor. Remember the hospital ship? the Javits Center? BJK Tennis Stadium? Graham ER?--ALL unutilized! If there is a hospital ER overwhelmed now these resources can be quickly deployed--they are ready to go. The hospitals in my area are going broke due to UNDER-utilization and the health care workers haven't seen a case and are out riding bikes.

Congrats! the measures to avoid overwhelming hospitals in NYC worked! The same can't be said for those in Florida or Arizona or Texas...

I know it may be hard to wrap your head around this, but opening the floodgates as soon as the hospitals get things under control is just going to risk overwhelming them again

Some scientists speculated that the warmer weather would slow its spread. Nobody said it wouldn't survive the hot weather, specially because it was still spreading in warm climates. Many of them actually cautioned against holding this belief (article dated Feb 27th):

That obviously didn't stop a certain political figure from repeatedly claiming it would "disappear" with hot weather, "like a miracle." That's why you need to listen to your advisors, no matter how much of a stable genius you claim to be.

He will never get it. There is a propaganda wing which is constantly brainwashing people that the moment one measure of danger gets reduced, everything can get back to normal the next day. There are plenty of those who believe that in the states that you mentioned, and others are paying the price for it.
