French Open

wasn't sure which forum to put this in…..but has anyone been to the French Open before? I'd really like to go this year and I want to go to the men's final.

If I read the ticketing information correctly on the FO website, the tickets for the men's final include the women's final and maybe semis? and they're not on sale for the general public until March.

so does anyone have any tips on ordering tickets, places to stay, etc? I probably should think about booking the flight/hotel ASAP…..

Hey JJ,

I was there last year. It's nearly impossible to get tickets on the French Open website 'cause a billion people will try to get tickets in the same time!

BUT ... You can request tickets by a special service on viagogo, the only official ticketing partner of Roland Garros. I got there tickets for the men's semi-final and the final. You pay 20 Euros and they will try to get the requested tickets for you. You only have to pay if they succeed in getting tickets for you.

Oh I forgot to mention, we stayed in the Mercure XV hotel. It's about 10 - 15 minutes to the Roland Garros stadium (very easy to reach by Metro).
We paid 94.00 Euros special fare for a room for two persons. The period we were there they wanted 360.00 Euros for the same room ;-)
