Just strung a Tad Davis wooden racquet with my low grade trash DW machine, (29 min older Wilson nat gut 16g. took longer as gut with dense pattern shared holes I take little more time to not wear down gut ) . , even though I have a great high end CP electronic machine that has all the bells and whistles, even does self calibration, but went to use my old Serrano automatic DW, that @ TimeToPlaySets would call low grade trash, as that is what he said all DW machines are . With that low grade trash I strung a great deal of racquets back in the 60's and 70's. Most likely more than TTPS would string in a life time., (mostly woodens and T 2000's back then ) , and this machine was the industry standard back then. I occasionally now use it for the wooden racquets I string from time to time, as it brings back memories from years ago. I wonder exactly just what references to facts that TTPS bases his comments on? He never answered that when I asked before. Any answers TTPS ? Anyone taking bets he will not answer? Most likely he probably has no idea what a Serrano machine even is. It is a peddle operated automatic drop weight cp machine 2 point mount glide bar machine. You set the weights on bar scale to desired tension and gripper pulls string to that setting when you take foot off peddle, no bar to keep horizontal, and is still very accurate when I place calibrator on it. Yes I like my electronic machine better, but I would not call my DW machine low grade trash. I would even use that old machine more if I had the upgrade for it that would allow to mount todays larger racquets on it.
