This is the full BBC Ladies Singles Final.

It includes comments from Evert, Navratilova, Austin, Shriver, Rubin. Williams coach Patrick M.

Former British No.1s Annabel Croft and Sam Smith discuss the final and Jo Konta (they have very polite opposing views on Konta calling a journalist "patronising").

Pat Cash looks back on Serena Williams first win in 2002.
And much more.

And it's the BBC so tastefully done AND no adverts!
Enjoy.

Simona Halep is what "hardly ever comes to the net" looks like

I think she hit one volley in the entire match, and only because she was forced to come in

Normally this really frustrates me about Halep - creates the opportunity to come in but backs off - but in this match she really didn't need to.

Only because Serena unraveled in a flurry of bad unforced errors. I still haven't figured out how she even made the final in this sorry state

You could argue that she wasn't really tested by a top player before the final. But Halep only faced one Top Ten player herself.
But Halep certainly exposed Williams footwork/fitness.
That said, Williams did appear nervous, so that may have played a part?

She did hit an extraordinary lob volley, but I agree she wasn't at the net by her own volition.
