Gasquet: “At Roland-Garros, I don’t see who can beat Nadal apart from Djokovic”

Reflecting on Rafael Nadal’s Australian Open crown after calling the Spaniard and Roger Federer as “greatest champions in the history of tennis, Richard Gasquet has not forgotten Novak Djokovic who is, according to him, the only one who can deprive Rafa of a 14e coronation at the Porte d’Auteuil next June.

He’s such a monster of tennis that he’s always the favorite, even without being prepared. It’s Nadal. I’m not even surprised with his victory because I know the guy he is. It was nice to see him, I was happy to see him win. I supported him from the beginning to the end of the tournament, because he is someone I particularly appreciate. At Roland-Garros, I don’t see who can beat him apart from Djokovic. It is prodigious.

On a serious note, this year is difficult at RG again with his foot and he's older. I think it will be Tsitsipas.

Muzz devotee, my point is that even if Novak never wins another point on Philippe Chatrier he will still be better than your dear Sir Andy.
A Murray devotee? Hmm not sure about that. I will support him because I am patriotic, but if he wasn’t British I am pretty sure I would dislike him considerably. For future reference, my preferred tenissers are Mr Nadal and Mr Delpops. You shouldn’t allow usernames to colour your views, dear boy.

Nollydjoks won’t win another Roland Garros title.
You are setting yourself up and it is a risky business.

What you claim will happen indeed will happen, unless Nadal gets injured by berry motivated Djokovic doing his usual mental terror. Again.

Remember, Nadal had won RG21 before it started. You know the injury tge factual outcome of RG21 SF caused. And you know what it took and how long it lasted for Nadal to overcome it.

Are you sure Nadal can overcome it again? And more importantly, can his fans go through that hell again without leaving the forum?

We do not know what will happen at RG22. But we all know what terror Djokovic induces when properly conditioned / motivated - as he did at RG21 (after USO20 and RG20). Against Nadal. At Nadal's kingdom. At Slam Nadal already 'won'.

Now Nadal has already 'won' RG22. Beware.

Perhaps, but then you are assuming I care what other people think. I know some people like to bookmark threads and comments, then bring them back up when proven to be incorrect, as a pastime, but it’s a bit of a waste of time when it’s met with a shrug of the shoulders.

Fair enough. I apologize.

I don’t know if he has the guts to pull it off, next genners almost always disappoint and Medvedev cemented that feeling. I would favor either Nadal or Djokovic over anyone else.

But Nadal wins 60 62 75 if the foot ain't swollen

He’s right. If Djokovic doesn’t play give him the trophy. If Djokovic plays, well he’s got one hand on it but not 2. Djokovic has some chance, the rest have no chance.

Do people really do this? I didn't even know you could bookmark comments. What's the point?
