Get rid of doubles altogether says Mac

I'm sure the Bryans are already millionaires. They worked the doubles circuit to the tee.

You missed my point. I'm just asking why anyone would prefer to be a doubles player which commands very little prestige and attention if they could be a singles player............using being a millionaire on my part is saying why would anyone turn down a good opportunity.

Mac is right. Doubles are played by failures who can't succeed in singles. Take the Bryans. In singles they wouldn't be top 100. Federer and Nadal playing together would win 50+ doubles slams.

John trying to keep his name in the press. And he'll ask the Bryans to do a charity event then be shocked when they refuse.

Dodig and Verdasco, two singles players who are now playing doubles seriously, did give the Bryans some trouble. They are better returners than the average doubles specialists. But their teamwork is incredible to watch. And it's cool to watch them at the practice courts doing drills - great volleyers.

I know the Bryans would lose badly to McEnroe and Fleming, Newcombe and Roche, or Connors and Nastase, but that said I still enjoyed the doubles at the ATP finals in London a lot more than the singles. The singles matches are boring cross court topspin displays that look more like drills than a real match. The "miracle gets" shills like Gimelstob drool over are guaranteed by the slow courts, poly strings, huge racket heads, and heavy balls.
