Getting serious with the LFH

I need any advice that I can get to speed up my learning process of the left handed forehand (im a rightie).
I started to do a lot of things with my non dominant left hand in my regular off tennis life. Also I had about 10 tennis sessions and I am startinging to "get the grip".
I decided not to go back to right handed forehand. Sure I have doubts - when I read posts like "My buddy trained left handed forehand for 10 years but his rightie forehand still has more power.".

So my question is what should I do to speed up this process? I dont want to spend 10 years and then still be behind. Give me any exercise you think of and i will do it. I have the will. Which body exercises would help? Throwing medicine balls? Hitting shadow strokes with a medical band?
What do you think.. could I develop an strong forehand if I would train 3-4x a week for 3 hours?
I will still serve right handed as the leftie serve is wicked like hell...

What I am doing now:

I am bouncing the ball with the left hand, I am throwing the ball with the left hand, I am doing racquet "tricks" with the left hand, in everx practice session I am hitting only left handed. I am washing disheh with the left hand and eating left handed. Also I sometimes use the mouse with the left hand. What else I could do to speed up the process? Thanks...

I have no problems with low balls.. I have no problems with not to deep balls... I still have some problems with high long bouncing balls - and ofcourse- running forehands are still in development. But I get huge spin - thats because there is lacking of power and you feel the ball more somehow. Until now I am satisfied - will see how things go.

Intersperse left and right forehands. Your right forehand should bring up force information for your left forehand (Something like that, its early and my brain hurts all ready).
Have a look at Tino Stockel's work on interlimb transfer effects.

I found cleaning my teeth LH helped give me a better sense of wrist location (could be just me). Ultimately, you want to get good at hitting a tennis ball and there's no short cut to that other than hitting lots of balls.

Have fun!

i am also brushing my teeth LH :D and washing dishes and everything I can do. thanks, i will read it. you are right... good that I played two handed for 3 years - (with my non dominant hand on bottom) - so I have a fully developed lefti two handed backhand - now I just need to work on the onehanded forehand and leftie slice. But I also have some other shots in my arsenal. Like the Santoro two handed forehand slice. (i think i feel it so good because my dominant hand is on top if I use this two handed leftie forehand slice).

Still.. I think I will serve right handed. But then there is one problem. What to do with overheads?

but maybe another question..

Nadal cant do nothing else very good with his left hand. Watch this:

maybe I should also only focus on tennis with my left hand. Why? Because then the left hand is optimized\programmed solely for tennis related movement. Do you get what I mean by this? There is no "interference" in muscles - they just do that one thing and that is tennis. They dont get disctracted by other "learned movements" and are evolved just to play tennis.

Appears against lower level players, my rightie forehand is much better than my normal lefty forehand.
Just can't hit a rightie backhand.

you are a natural leftie?
my story is a little more complicated than I described here... when I started playing tennis 7 years ago or something I hurted my right wrist and then I switched to double handed both sides (leftie style). So I developed a very good leftietwo handed backhand - which gives me a lot of control and I punch back most of the rightie forehands with NO problem.
Now I just need to develop the left handed forehand and I will be a big problem for some players :)

Lefty player here but I developed a pretty decent Righty Fh and serve. But have never felt comfortable with a Righty Bh either (1h or 2h) -- altho I can hit a reasonable righty Bh for table tennis.
