Since Roger Federer's first Grand Slam win at Wimbledon in 2003 the big 3 have won a combined total of 60 times (20 each) and they have not won 13 times. Roddick, Gaudio, Safin, del Potro, Thiem and Medvedev have all won once, and Andy Murray and Stan Wawrinka are 3 time slam winners.

The USO is the Grand Slam tournament with the most different winners -10. Incredibly the Australian Open and the French Open have both had only 5 different winners in 18 years! Wimbledon has only had THREE since Andy Murray won it twice

AO; Djokovic 9, Federer 6, and Nadal 1. Total of 16.

FO: Nadal 13, Djokovic 2, Federer 1. Total of 16.

Wimbledon: Federer 8, Djokovic 6, Nadal 2. Total of 16.

USO: Federer 5, Nadal 4, Djokovic 3 (this is the one with no clear leader and the hardest tournament for the big 3). Total of 12. (interesting fact: Federer won 5 years in a row and then never won again winning his last USO in 2008).

For all we know Djokovic and Nadal will continue to win Grand Slams next year and the year after that, but I personally think the big 3 era is over and we are going to start to see others win even at AO and perhaps at FO (although I am hoping Rafa wins there a few more times!) and Wimbeldon. They certainly have the potential to win at the USO.

So what do you think? Is the big 3 era over, or just dwindling down? Will we start to have brand new Grand Slam winners or will Medvedev and Thiem win some more?
