had my first private lesson today!

It was very enjoyable! The coach was friendly and very personable. I found him on craigslist so I wasnt sure what to expect.

Everything turned out great, he pushed me hard (which I liked alot), unlike alot of coaches which treat you the same as they do the 8yr olds (and thats ok too bc for some people thats what they want).

He really knew what he was talking about and was very good at explaining it. I would recommend him to anyone I know in the Central Florida area! His rates are great too, only 35 dollars a lesson and the lesson is 90 minutes!

anyway I was just excited and wanted to talk about it

I would recommend private lessons once every two weeks, and sign up for competitive leagues to have experience in playing with other people. Private lessons are great for straightening out your fundamentals, technique, and footwork, but you also need to experience the real deal.

where can i look into the competetive leagues, I've lived in europe for a while and I'm not sure how it works here. I live in orlando btw, any links or info would be appreciated

Congratulations!! What did you guys work on?

You might pop over to the adult league page (assuming you're an adult!) and ask about opportunities for play in your area.

yeah cindy I am and I will, thanks

but at first we just hit around to see where I am at, then he helped me a little bit with my forehand and then we moved on to my backhand. thats where i was having most of my problems and within a couple minutes of his instruction i already saw a lot of improvement in it. I wasnt bringing the racquet back and down, i was just bringing it back and kinda up, so I was happy he cleared that up for me.
