Hi everyone, wanted to give you a quick update. I had an MRI on my back and found out I have a disk hernia.
I will discuss with doctors in the next few days but hope to be back soon and will keep you updated. Thanks for all your support

I already read it somewhere today! Kinda explains early losses during asian swing tbh...her form display was too suspicious! She looked like she was playing by holding back everytime! Now i can see why!

I have a question though! What is disc hernia and how serious it can be? I don't want Halep to lose number one ranking as i was hoping she can finish as world number one, but now her number one ranking is clearly in danger! Hope this still allows her to recover until Singapore, so she could go the distance to protect ranking if not winning it, then maybe at least pulling three victories until semis...

A herniated disk is very serious although it can be treated with conservative methods such as physiotherapy, and chiropractic. It means the disk has been compromised and it either has a bulge, or the casing has been punctured and some of its pulpy material has slipped out. If the material does leak out it can affect the spinal nerves and cause sciatica. It should heal in 3-6 mos. But, if it doesn't then surgery is usually warranted.

This is often serious. She also has to think about a healthy Life after tennis. I would take no risk that it can happen again.

When is Cahill going to leave her and get serious about pumping up a NextGen to start putting these ATG ATP geriatrics down?

You should be thankful that big-3 perform this good at such an old age (for tennis!) to help sustain sport popularity and consistency! If it wasn't for them, we would have all these clowns ending up with one grand slam each from 12 consecutive grand slams played, almost like in women's tennis! Lol But thanks to big-3 men's tennis still has some dignity about it...

Don't get me wrong, of course I'm grateful for the big 3 but I don't want to be watching Rome 06, AO 09, RG 11 etc foreverer. It's pretty clear I meant the overall level of tennis should be raised by NextGen to push Fedalovic out which would be good for the sport.

Guys like Cahill, Gilbert, Norman and others need to get serious, commit to coaching NextGeners and really start getting on with it. ATP will enter a crisis in the next few years if it's just Djokovic hanging round on the podium waiting for someone to take a set off him.

Sorry, but as Djokovic fan i disagree! I would hate to see him going down without closing in to the same legacy level as other two big guys...thats just...not an option...maybe when he wins his 20+ grand slam or something like that...then all these Zverevs and Tsitsipases can enjoy their own party...

Can someone explain the situation with Halep, cuz i don't get it! She said she asked for WC to play in Moscow, but that happened before she got diagnozed with her health problem! I read from various sources, that her participation at this year's YEC in Singapore is questionable, yet i didn't hear any kind of update regarding Kremlin Cup, which is kinda odd since this is the vent that predeceases Singapore one...can someone elaborate on the subject please? I am really scared for Halep's position as world number one now, since Wozniacki is less than 2000 points away and Kerber isn't that far behind either...if either of the two win Beijing (which is quite unlikely but still...) Then they will get dangerously close to number one spot and take over after Singapore concludes! Not to mention, that Wozniacki additionally asked for WC to play in Moscow as well!...

Halep has withdrawn from WTA Finals due to her lower back injury not healing the way she hoped it would.

Her spot will be taken by Kiki Bertens.
