Happy Bloom's Day: June 16!

We celebrate for the 110th time one day in the life of many Dubliners. Let Bloom lead your way through an odyssey in a day..."the longest way round is the shortest way home" and we all know you can get "from the sublime to the ridiculous in just one step"!

Find your "home" today, if just for a few moments, hoist a pint (Guinness is suggested) and make like a Bloom or a Daedalus or any of the small village in the bigger city Joyce knew so well.

Time to reflect on how extraordinary we can all become from living ordinary lives if we just take time to see, to be!

I was in Dublin for Bloomsday twenty years ago. It was a lot of fun. While watching tennis today, I switched to an ESPN documentary about O.J. Simpson from the same time. I was blissfully ignorant about the whole thing, and didn't realize that the New York Rangers had ever won the Stanley Cup.

For me, the most interesting sporting event at the time was when Ireland beat Italy in the World Cup. Dublin went crazy.

One of the Irish matches in that group was played here in Orlando...Ireland vs Mexico. Wish I had been down here on I Drive as there are several authentic Irish pubs (one I will visit later after work) that would have been mobbed!

Careful there...Boilermakers, firebombs, it's really about the merriment, right? My girlfriend loves Bailey's, I'd rather down some Mackeson if I have to choose!
