Head deal - I need help with choosing new string!

Hey, this is my first post so I'm sorry if it's not the best way to ask, but I've been offered a deal with Head (basically a big big discount).
I've already chosen my new racquet, moving from my old head Graphene XT Speed Pro onto the Gravity Pro.
I loved the Gravity Pro while demoing it for a couple of weeks, but the string someone put in the demo racquet before, was a prince poly.
I can generate my own power and depth, but I've noticed that with the Gravity I'm lacking a bit of spin to fit the ball before the baseline.
I don't like the bite'y triangular, square and other similarly-shaped strings, but I'm ok with a rough version.
To summarize, I'm looking for a spin/control/touch oriented head hybrid, most likely poly-multifillament combo.
Thanks and sorry for the long post :)

PL 2 in red or black is a good alternative. Those have treated me well in the past. Tourbite seems to be everyone's go to if all else fails. I've heard some great things on Volkl Cyclone as well.

Also if you can get Head deals, you should look into Hawk poly.

I use a Gravity Pro and I found that Volkl Cyclone 18g at 54lbs worked really for me. Its gotta be 18g. I did try Cyclone in mains and Power Fiber II in crosses before at abt 53lbs I think but my balls just sailed long. I would really suggest trying the full poly of Cyclone 18g. Also, I like the orange Cyclone the best!

Head Hawk Touch 17 g @ 52 pounds full bed. One hour break-in period, and it plays perfectly for another 15 - 20 hours. One can extend the playability by crossing with a synthetic gut, but cross-court dippers and kick serves will suffer compared to a full bed. I do not know how many professional titles have been won in the last year or two with this string, but I believe it has a top level of performance.

Do you think I should go with Hawk Touch over Hawk Rough? Not much spin difference?

Not a perfect comparison (TWU doesn’t list Hawk Touch 17). But perhaps still useful to compare and contrast.

Head hawk touch would be my pick! One stringbed lasts around 3-4 hours before it starts to spraying the ball a bit. Until then, really nice contol oriented string.

Two questions: Why don't you like shaped strings? Just guessing, I'd say you tried them in full bed, right?
I tried a couple in a full bed, and tried head lynx edge in a hybrid and a luxilon savage.
I don't like the sensation I get when shaped strings bite the ball. It feels weird whenever I hit with it.

I tried a couple in a full bed, ....

Yeah, I don't recommend that. Triangle shaped strings in a full bed work against each other. Makes sense if you tried them that way. Square shaped strings are underwhelming in my experience. That said, the performance and feel is soooo much better if you use a triangle shape main and slick round cross.

I don't have much experience with polygram shaped strings. I am trying out Mayami's Tour Hex and YTek's Octotwist - I understand where you are coming from in terms of feel. I think string material has a lot to do with that, too. Obvious that those two brands/types you tried didn't suit you. I think I will try a few more brands before deciding on shapes.
