Head Graphene XT Speed Pro feel is so stiff?

Head Graphene XT Speed Pro feel is so stiff and solid. My string tension is 57/54 lbs. Should I tension string to how many lbs will be comfortable feel and softer? Please help. Thanks

This racquet begs to be 98". Fot the weight and dynamics, 100" is too big, and the balance is off, making it completely unmodifiable (sp?). The 18x20 pattern is a little too tight in the middle as well. Another of Head's Graphene blunders.

I can't stand this frame now after using it off and on for a while. Way too stiff and just kinda unusable to me. Many better options. Same goes with the new extreme pro coming out. Just way too powerful and stiff compared to older versions.

agree, the new graphene is just taking away too much. adding stiffness and lost some feel. Guess it maybe ok if you are a camping baseliner..

I was under the impression it's around the stiffness of the RF, the Response, the 6.1's. Around 68.
APD's are stiffer, as are PD's and F5T's, and lots of players use them.

I played quite a bit with the Head Graphene XT speed Pro - nice racket - it is however (in my opinion) quite stiff and sensitive to strings and certainly string tension. Its a 18x20 which makes it even more 'sensitive'
I usually play around 50lbs, and with the Speed Pro i was dropping the tension to 46Lbs and using softer strings (softer polys - STB Soft). I had tried RPM Blast (which I consider a medium to soft poly) at 53lbs, and it was for me, way to stiff...
I see you are using Wilson Sensation (Multifilament - much softer strings) so I recon 57/54 will be a good start.

The Speed Pro has been an arm-wrecker for me, with everything from synthetic gut to soft poly. I guess it's the combo of stiff frame and tight string pattern. got best playability from some real thin 19 g Hawk Touch.

Limited to the xt model.

the graphene model is stiff too. it has everything to do with that tight stringbed. I would go with a real thin co-poly (18-19 gauge). I've got 18 g VStar in one, just haven't tried it yet. as mentioned above, have 19 g hawk touch in another that works well. I'm just not completely sold on the speed pro yet, I seem to get better results with the MP and the S. I think I like the weight and balance of the pro, but I don't like the string pattern ... in that frame, at least.

I have also tried 16 g sonic pro edge in this frame and, provided you don't string it above 50 or so, it works pretty well.
