Hi Everyone,
On the new Boom Pro 2024, which Lynx Tour would you recommend? Black or Grey? And what differences are there between the various colours?
I would stick with grey or champagne. String a little lower, it can be sneaky stiff in the 1.25 size

Champagne the most balanced
Grey the most stiff
Black soft, lower power and a little bit more muted
Orange best feeling among all but less control

I always go for the champagne!
are you talking about linx tour ? what about Lynx ? is it just as good ?

Lynx is a different string - 1) it's round, and 2) tension maintenance isn't as good, and 3) the feel is softer. Both are good strings, but they are definitely different. I prefer Lynx Tour as it's more controlled, slightly better spin potential, decent tension maintenance.

For me lynx tour is a demanding string. It won’t help if you have a sort and slow swing. If you hit relaxed and fast it’s great….. but i cannot do that all the time. Lynx has great feel but lacks free power. I prefer head hawk but still I need a little bit more free power. Hawk power is ok but nothing special and found it firm. Lynx touch is currently my head favourite.

Good morning, What is the difference between black and champagne color? I have always played with the 17g 1.25 champagne which I found quite comfortable (the 1.20 16g champagne is very comfortable). I had to use a 1.25 gray recently because the champagne was out of stock and I found it very dry and uncomfortable, less soft. Do you agree with me ? I would like to have more champagne but I am hesitant to try the black one. Which is softer/comfortable between black and champagne?

I have champagne and gray 1.20 to try out and will be doing so soon. If I like either then I’ll order 1.20 in black and orange from Europe and see which I like best before ordering a reel.

General rule of thumb is that lighter colored strings are livelier than their darker counterparts.

I look forward to your return. On the other hand, I don't understand why orange is seen as the most livelier and comfortable rope because it is a dark color! The black is supposed to be the stiffest, but some have found it softer and plush, so I don't undurstand!

A lot of this is personal preference. I'd try to get my hands on a handful of sets, try them all, and then decide which one you like best. You can wade through the forest of opinions in these forums and find people saying the exact opposite things about the same strings. There are general rules of thumb (like brighter colored string do generally play livelier), but there are always exceptions and of course peoples' personal preferences.

I tried Lynx Tour 1.20 champagne mains with Hawk Touch 1.20 crosses yesterday for the first time strung at 50 lbs. Great spin potential and the Hawk Touch really added some feel and pocketing. I plan on increasing Hawk Touch to 52 lbs to add more control.

Long time 1.25, 17g Lynx Tour in grey user. I recently strung up my three Prestige Pro 2021 with the 1.20, 18g in Champagne, at 52 lbs main and 48 lbs crosses. The tension and stringer were my usual setup. The string looks like a 17g thickness, even though it is what Head is calling as a 18g. After hitting for about 4 hours, I have the following comments. I definitely prefer the grey stiffness, it's subtle difference, but maybe I just need more time to get used to the new string. There is more spin, not a huge gain, but it was noticeable when I served a kick or slice, or hit a heavy ball trying to push back an opponent. Power difference was negligible. Not a bad looking string, but not necessarily something I would have chosen had the 18g been available in a different colour. in short, the 18g has all of the beneficial properties of the 17g with a little more spin.
