I have 3 head prestige classic trek fonts with the rectangular grips. However I really wanted to change these pallets over to the TK82s rounder shape. The only problem is the pallets are quite difficult to come across so I came up with this quite obvious solution to make the rectangular grips rounder.
Get a PU replacement grip and depending on the width of the sticky area cut 1-2 mm along the length of the sticky bit to the same length as the pallet. Obviously make yourself two of these strips and stick them down on the face sides of the pallet (the widest bevels of the pallet) and there you have it a rounder grip.
I've wrapped two overgrips around this - no replacement grip - and it feels great. Can still feel the bevels and feels somewhere between a leather and a synthetic replacement grip with an overgrip.
It is ideal for me as on previous rackets with rounder grips I would often buy grip size 3 and increase half a size with a heat shrink with the use of a replacement grip and one overgrip.
