Yeah and his serve is less effective than Theim's , Hewitt will be in trouble in almost every service game. Theim was outhitting Djokovic in Wawa style , that's the reason he had a chance.noone is gonna beat Djokovic at AO open final playing run , defense and with no serve. Djokovic feasts on it and does it better than anyone at RLA also he has a far better serve , defense and return than Hewitt.

I meant serve as well forgot to add. Wawrinka's peak at AO is a lot better than both Hewitt's and Thiem's but Thiem is probably closer to Wawrinka's in style as you said.

Yeah all prime Djokovic versions 's at AO are 8-2 and upwards to 10-0. This makes it closer because it's a very good Djokovic but it's still considered to be one of or his weakest winning run.

Thiem was actually choking hard to get broken back at the end of set3 as well, but Djokovic was not buying it.
Thiem is a guy who's extremely poor in big finals & almost always plays way below his pre-final levels & expectations; with the only exception being the Indian Wells final of 2019 vs Roger Federer.

Don't know though terrible with these rankings. 2016 would rank up the top for the SF for example but the rest of the tourney felt like Djokovic didn't use his max gear. Same with 2012 for the final.
