^^ Usually I don't, but this time I agree that he should consider retiring.
After so many injuries and surgeries there are many things that can break down, possibly for life.

Let's see: hewitt goes deep in a fifth set only to lose to a former top-5 player and "his form is in question" because it happened in the 1st round? Didn't Hewitt do OK at the Kooyong event just prior to the AO? Also, what was the nature of the surgery (pin/screw insertion for a broken bone)? If so, a FSU b-ball star is playing less than 5 weeks after similar surgery, so FO is possible. As to the suggestion to retire posted #2, let the athlete decide when it's time to hang it up. You're not inside his body, mind and soul. Hewitt's got stones bigger than your brain! I care not your exalted TT status, that's flat out not your call.
What exactly is your problem? I simply posted an article and stated that Hewitt hopes to be back in time for the French. That's what it says in the article.
I posted information only not commentary so next time take a deep breath and count to 10 before you highlight something of mine and post something that makes no sense. Re-read what you posted and see if it refers to my post.
Hewitt is going to leave the tour in a wheelchair. I am not entirely sure what he is playing for these days.
I know, its kind of sad in a way.Hewitt is going to leave the tour in a wheelchair. I am not entirely sure what he is playing for these days.
Me too, or atleast make some semis...It does suck, I still wish he'd win another slam so bad, but it's just never gonna happen. Sucks.
I admire the guy for persevering. Hey, every decent showing he has in tourneys is more money in his pocket. I'm sure he doesn't mind.

You might be the one to count to 10: my slam was the poor reporting in the ESPN link you were gracious enough to include in the OP. The second part of my comment was aimed at a subsequent post suggesting it is time for Hewitt to retire. That post irked me, not yours! It's Hewitt's call as to when to hang it up, not any of us. So calm down, reread what I wrote and admit I never fired off at you.

I get that you were going off on the second poster but it didn't make any sense to highlight mine. Highlight the one you were criticizing and comment so people know who/what you're talking about. That's just poor etiquette on your part. Your number of posts suggests you're fairly new around here so take this as a polite, friendly lesson from an elder statesmen
And I do appreciate your contribution to this thread and I agree with you that no one has the right to tell Hewitt when it's time to walk away. He'll quit when's he's ready and that's all that matters regardless of where his ranking is at.
