Actually Sampras is did win in 1990, but it the US Open..hehehe

Oh well, ESPN make a typo...as we all do sometime... just a fun thing for Monday

The commentors in ESPN had said Nadal is the first teen to win a "SLAM" since 1990, and he is the first teen to win "the French" since Chang in 1989.

with that statement, then ESPN seem to have forgotten Sharapova's Wimbly win last year at the age of 17 :)

I'm sure they do just mean men - but Maria isn't even the last teenage female to win a slam. There is a much more recent and thus better example of that ;)

Since last years Wimbly, three grand slams have come and gone, US Open, the Australian Open, and more recently the French Open. I don't recall which female won US Open and the australian open. Justin Henin won the French and she is not in her teens. Was it a teen who won US OPen and the Australian since Sharapova at wimbly?

Too bad I missed this thread, right after I made my own. Anyway, I guess there are so many typos. I guess even the pro's (writers) don't proofread enough.
