Ok you see the question. Nole and rafa are in the semis of Beijing but what i have read nadal will pass nole in the raknings if he reaches the final? Isn't nole able to defend his position if he makes it to the final against him by winning?

Djokovic is a defending champion in beijing so no points will be added even if he wins it. On the other hand Nadal is defending 0 points because he did not enter this event last year. He will only add points as he goes deeper in the tournament. Hence Nadal will be the new NO.1 tomorrow if he reaches the final.

Ok. That was a better explenation. But still, i think its unfair system, it should give nole a chance to defend his position, not the other way around...

Actually, Nadal won't become #1 until Monday, even if he wins tomorrow. The rankings are only updated on Mondays. But it would be guaranteed that he would be #1 on Monday.

All players have a chance to defend their ranking points, but sometimes that's not enough to defend their position.

But as others said, this is the result of Nadal outperforming him for several months - Djokovic actually had many chances to defend his position. But he's won no tournaments since Monte Carlo and now it has caught up to him.

juice

what if they catch him on the juice?? then he will lose all his points won this year.
even if they don't, it's ruining his body.
he will probably confess about it in his 30s.

He has had the chance, if he would have outperformed Rafa this year he would be keeping the number 1 ranking.
