How did the grass season become so short??

Well, i read that before, 3 of the 4 GS used to be played on grass, but now we have no Masters on grass, and just a spattering of tournaments on grass leading to Wimby.....My question is, what led to this short grass season??

I mean, there are 9 (including indoor carpet which is very similar to hardcourts) hardcourt major events, 4 clay major events, but only 1 major grass event??

Probably because the length between French and Wimbledon is so short.. And i think it is a crime to change the day of the grand slams... =) Thats why the grass season is so short.

There never was much longer grass season.
LOL. Tennis was played almost exclusively on grass in the past in the US and UK.

The grass season has diminished because tournament owners make more money with hard courts since they don't require as much upkeep. The injury problem for players due to hard courts, though, is a threat to profit that most don't take into account.
