How far will Djokovic go at 2017 Wimbledon?

For the first time since 2010 he isn't among the biggest favorites.
For the first time since 2010 he has played a grass warm-up event.
2017 Eastbourne is his first grass title outside of Wimbledon. No sets dropped.

The end result of the tournament is obviously not as important as the fact that he faced the best possible opponent in the final - The Guru. This particular moment in the second set is very encouraging, He was in very good mood to teach a valuable lesson to one of His finest students.

Projected draw
R1 Klizan
R2 Escobedo
R3 Del Potro
R4 Monfils/Lopez
QF Berdych/Thiem
SF Federer
F Murray/Nadal

Wimbledon has been a turning point several times. In 2011 and 2014 Novak became world number 1 after that tournament, in 2012 he was temporarily dethroned, in 2015 he started his historic streak of 4 Slams in a row, in 2016 his rapid fall began. How will the new crocodile do now?

Semifinal, but then I wouldn't favor him against Federer at all with their current forms. You never now though, stranger things have happened.

W 2016 is where it all started going down, 2017 could be where it starts going the other way for him.
Although, I cannot see spectacular results before 2018...

Probably the 4R where I expect he'll lose to Lopez. Hopefully we'll begin to see a more consistent Djokovic as soon as the NA hard court tournaments come around - tennis just feels so empty without him at his best.

Djokovic is nowhere near in as good of form as Cilic... and Lopez beat Cilic. Djokovic's run will end at Lopez if it doesn't end before that.

If Djokovic gets into semi final id make him slight favourite for whole tournament.

Nadal would rather face Federer in final im sure. Im still not convinced Nadal fully believes he can handle Djokovic at his best. In Madrid his reaction after he won said alot to me.

I like that Novak is coming to London as an underdog.
The Eastbourne title shows that he still cares very much about the sport and wants it.

What? He was the second favorite after Federer even before we found out what a joke his draw is.

Nadal would rather face Federer in final im sure.

What are your reasons for thinking this? Fed has beaten Nadal all three times they've played this year. At IW, he totally destroyed him. Why would Nadal want to face an in-form Federer on GRASS as opposed to a Novak who has won two piddly-assed 250's all year, and who he beat easily a month ago?

Well, because if Djokovic is good enough to beat Federer in the SF then obviously he is capable of beating Nadal in a final. I do think Nadal would probably rather see an in form Federer in the final than an in form Djokovic if he had to choose.

I would give Federer the slight edge in a Nadal-Federer final but the thing is we don't know what Nadal has been working on since those three losses to Federer this year. It's up to Nadal to come up with a different game plan to try and beat Federer(the irony!) What if he does come up with it?

As for Djokovic, I think he'll either lose to a zoning Del Potro or in the SF to Federer (assuming they both get there.)

Because deep down Nadal finds Federer easier to play. Indian wells was surprising but Federer was in the zone and Nadal was poor. Australia Nadal was gone after SF which was evident in 5th set. Miami is always hard for Rafa due to humidity.

Nadal will always hammer away at Federer backhand. And on grass it will be harder to take it that early due to the more incosistent bounce. Against an in form Djokovic im not sure Nadal has a strategy other than hoping he out grinds him.
