How long is your ignore list?

Just curious. I'm currently at seven.

I have gotten into the habit of hitting ignore on people who are being especially annoying in ongoing match/tournament threads, and then clearing the list every once in a while to torture myself give people another chance.

My red flags: apparent racism, extreme sexism, seemingly intentional overuse of well-known trigger words, argumentative/repetitive posters (thankfully often temporary), and what appear to be new state-sponsored troll accounts.

Actually given all that, seven ain't bad! :)
Anyone who says the same thing over and over and over again I have on ignore. Just so I can get through the clutter and read posts that are useful or continue the dialog. Have about 8 on ignore in my short time.

Where to see my list? Suspect it's couple of pages

Thanks. I have a looong list...
I used to as well, but I've started regularly completely clearing it. Seems like some posters go off the rails for a bit and then calm down, and others get banned etc. So no need to keep the list that long. Honestly I wish we had a timeout button to just silence posters for a day. :D

Only two and both seems to be inactive now.

The one guy got to like 3000 posts within 3 months. Just **** posting day in, day out. After about 6 months of that it now appears he’s been inactive the last 12 months. Why bother??

I have about 120 or so on it counting by how many pages there are.
Basically, I often look at the 'newest posts' when I first bring TT up.
I try to keep it from getting cluttered by people who consistently post nonsense threads, or consistent time wasters, so add them to the list as I go along.
If you've ever posted an 'Alcaraz is so, so tiny' thread, or publicly wanked about Nole, you are on the list most likely.
It is amazing how well simply adding these members to the ignore list cleans TT up.
This way I can more easily browse the new posts, and waste as little of my time as possible, which is how I found this thread.
What I found interesting is there are three posts in this thread by people I am ignoring. And it's already such a young thread.

Is there a way to mute threads so I don’t see them were I get to my home page thread list? It’s exhausting to see some nutty threads show up every time and I am stupid enough to click go in by mistake, realize it’s a dump and waste my time.

Don't think there is a way to do that

It's a great function. Changed my reading experience dramatically.

The earlier forum had a "rate thread" which also did not actually hide the thread. But they dropped that.
You'll just have to live with the accidental opening of undesirable threads.

Ok. Just remembered. If you put the OP in your ignore list, then the thread should vanish. But that's a little extreme.

Zero.
My warfare strategy is that if I have a conflict with other user (and this will always originate in the other user being an @$$hole, because I am a very cool guy), I will make the others put ME in ignore, and I will stand my ground.
I'd rather channel that energy onto real tennis court. The forum is source of useful information and entertainment. I'm not here to fight.

But if the idea is to come here to read decent takes on a Match or Tennis in general and every thread is about some miserable theory or conspiracy or plain simple but hurt what are you debating and standing your ground for? I come on here for few minutes whenever I have some time, don’t want to lose half of it scrolling through cult worshippers ranting and raving. You play with a pig in a pigsty you get the stink and dirt on you - that’s my theory anyway.

0. But this thread has me pondering on the possibility of ignoring users. The intriguing part is around a different view of threads.

I am now in the exploratory phase.

So did you ignore them? Inquiring minds want to know.
Trying to see if you're on my ignore list uh?
Basically, another rule of thumb to use other than seeing them posting stupid stuff, is how prolific the user has been within a certain amount of time.
If you throw up a hundred posts a day, the chances of any of that being interesting is rather low.
If it was all interesting, you would be writing screen plays and not tennis threads with that much production.
Either way, time and effort is being wasted.
The ignore list is literally two clicks. Sometimes you won't even know you are doing it - it just happens:
'Nole is statistically better than Michael Jordon and Bruce Springsteen' posted by someone with 22,000 threads in 12 months? Ignored.

Oh no, not me. I am not worried bout that. I am sure I am on some peoples ignore list, and I say good for them.

I agree that quality is better than quantity on posts.

1-2 people. I'm very far from the rude or "difficult" person some people here try to portray me as.

I'm time after time thrilled how some "better people" on this forum after systemically ignoring others declare how some un-chewed propaganda or questionable consensus are "absolute truths".
