How long until the madness passes this time?

It will last until the US Open, when it will either increase to unbearable heights, or flop completely.

I'm hoping the latter to be honest.

All of this "beating prime Novak is harder than prime Federer" nonsense is doing my head in and the fact that the same people who went away after Novak won the FO are back and in full force..

It's to be expected that Djokovic fans would be out in full force after just winning Wimbledon. If Federer or Nadal win the USO I guarantee you that their respective fanbases will also be out in force but I doubt that will bother you too much. The only reason you don't like reading all the Djokovic hype is because you don't like Novak himself. I don't know why people on here can't just be honest about these things.

I actually am starting to like Novak as a person.. He is a proud father and his new dedication to the game after the birth of his son has moved me. I didn't expect it to do so, but it has. I have no qualms with Novak.

Some of his fans (not you) are gloryhunting him and trying to pony him up to 18 slams already. I get you like Novak and have probably always liked Novak and like supporting him (note: you never left after the FO like some of these other standouts) but we have to wait and see what happens. We can't just make judgements going by his current form; for all we know Novak could win the next AO and one slam more like Federer did after 28.

And you can quote this.

I'd rather Novak wins the US Open than anybody else outside Murray and Federer.

Absolutely no Nole fan with a lick of sense is talking about 18 slams. The more time I spend on TTW the more I just ignore the outlier idiots. Like the people who claim stupid stuff like:

"Rafa > Fed because of H2H"
OR
"Prime Fed would wipe the floor with Prime Djoker"
OR
"Fed is better than ever"
OR
"Djoker can reach [17 or 18]"
OR
"Weak Era"
OR
"Rafa is only good because the courts are slow"
OR
"I'm not buying this Gluten story"
OR
"Djoker would be nothing without Fedal's decline"
OR
"Rafa's decline is due to BioPass"

The list of TTW stupidity goes on and on.

You-know-who certain to win XX Slams now. Certain to end career as GOAT. Certain to have a positive H2H against everyone who has ever picked up a racquet etc. etc. How long will it last this time? Two days? Three?

Reading this old bumped topic you made, I get feeling you are not appreciating certain talk about certain guy. You must be nongluten intolerant.

Edit: Forget I said anything. It's like http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0107048/

Very true. I have learnt to ignore such threads as well. These kind of threads does not have anything in common other than quarrel between fan bases.

It's totally normal and expected that Nole fans will be out in full force and euphoric. That's what fans are supposed to do. What is ridiculous and tiresome are the endless hypothetical threads which seem started by 12 year old:

Will Nole will 18 slams?
Is Nole greater than Agassi!?
If Nole had a sprained ankle, could he still win the AO?
If Nole and Laver played a set at their peak, what would the score be!??
Nole is more popular than Roger, just admit it!

Blah, blah, blah...

Ok, but what should we do ? Should we keep quiet ? It's the same with every fan base, just that you are lucky enough to have less Nole fans than Fed or Nadal fans, therefore there are less topics about same things after each slam. :p

It'll pass, don't worry. Things always change fairly quickly in this sport and they will continue to do so in the future. You have a bunch of 14 year olds who don't realize that on this forum or a bunch of posters who live their lives through their favorite players. Scary stuff.

WHOA you joined here a few months ago?

Im far from a noob and im far from 12 years old. The gluten story is total bs. I made that opinion based off my own experience as someone with non celiac gluten/food sensitivity, that went un diagnosed for quite a while.

Beyond that if you dont think that nadal and novak's physical decline isnt at least a bit suspicious after biopass, you're either in denial or just not aware. 2013,2012,2011 those two guys played some off the charts physical grade tennis. Just insane marathon matches of incredible physicality week after week after week. Especially with nadal's medically unfounded and simply impossible "injury" recovery turn arounds, and his doctor's history with doping spanish cyclists. There are logical pathways to doubt the legitimacy of the top tennis athletes. Especially considering the clearly widespread doping in cycling, the known issues in football, and baseball. Soccer has issues too, as well as the nba. So to not be skeptical is to be ignorant of the fact that cheating/doping has infiltrated a number of the world's top sport/athletes. Especially in the wake of massive decline of one of our top athletes, post biopass.

What I'm trying to say is its fundamentally incorrect and disrespectful to bunch up a rather important discussion about the fundamental integrity of our sport's biggest names, with sensationalistic discussions of things that are impossible (who would win etc etc etc).

Djokovic and Nadal are suspect, but the old man outrunning players 10+ years his junior isn't?

Oh fed is too. I've posted my thoughts about his mono years back. The mystery mono symptoms of several top players is weird considering abuse of epo gives you mono like symptoms

novak's physical decline

Stopped reading there. NEXT

On the gluten thing. Who cares if its Gluten or just his state of mind (placebo). There is absolutely no evidence that any of these guys are dopers and to suggest it without evidence is pathetic. You might as well suggest the same for Fed. Totally unfair and ridiculous.

If someone gets out'ed as a doper. Burn em at the stake, don't care who they are. But until then, just a sad witch hunt with nothing to support it.

By shanghai it should've worn off. Because no major left which means a lot of posters will drop off and nobody to get over excited about anything. Will resume next year Jan.

Right now it's a whole month with almost no tennis and many fanbases are currently on edge so especially when Federer makes a slam final, win or lose, there is a lot of noise.

WHAT? Of all the things to take away from this discussion... THATS what you got from it?

C'mon, you roll in here, quote a completely harmless post from MONTHS ago to announce to everyone that you think Fed/Djoker/Rafa are Doper suspects despite absolutely no evidence (real classy) then you cite a Djoker "physical decline" 2 days after he completes a 3-slam year (LOL) then you rip me for posting on a forum that YOU are posting on.... THEN you call ME a troll? I mean, thats more fail than I can comprehend in one thread.

Open your mind young padawan. Even jim courier in 99 said tennis has an EPO problem

There is a history here. John McEnroe admitted to corticosteroids. Andre Agassi revealed he tested positive for meth in 1997, but convinced the governing body he’d sipped his assistant’s spiked soda. By 1999 Jim Courier said there was an EPO problem. And in 2002 and 2003, Greg Rusedski was one of eight with illegal nandrolone levels but charges were quashed and six others were never named. But these aren’t just old school issues.

Serena Williams wasn’t tested across 2010 or 2011 yet finally, in October 2011, when testers went to her house she fled to her panic room saying she thought it was a robber. No test was subsequently conducted. Cocaine may not be performance enhancing but it has pointed to system flaws. In 2009, Richard Gasquet was cleared of using the drug because he kissed a woman who’d taken it. Rafael Nadal supported his defence but he’s been dogged by accusations too. This year, former pro Christopher Rochus commentating during the Australian Open said the Spaniard was faking injury to return to the locker room to “get a shot”. It wasn’t his first attack on a player that has drawn huge attention for his cycles of dominance followed by bizarre injuries followed by a superhuman ability to bounce back from problems with key areas like wrists and knees.

That’s where ITF testing lay low a handful of years ago. For instance, figures compiled by the superb ‘Tennis Has a Steroid Problem’ website show that between 2006 and 2011 there was a 33 per cent reduction in blood testing, in 2008 just 20 EPO tests took place, and by 2012 there were only 63 out-of-competition blood tests. But with more funding and more scrutiny come more queries. Does quantity equal quality, why no figures to show if testing has switched to winner-targeted, where are key statistics once readily available? For all the talk, we aren’t allowed see the walk.

Let me know when you have something other than teenage girl gossip on Fed / Rafa / Djoker. Until then, what you're doing is as despicable as the actual cheating you're railing against. You THINK that some guys are cheating. Despite no proof, you throw out accusations. This hurts literally every player in the sport. Who decides who's cheating and who's clean in your world? You? If you want to rip the ATP for having a weak testing regime thats fine. Perhaps they should do better. But to cast a doubt on ANY particular player's career with absolutely no evidence is pathetic.

Have some free shots at me. We've reached the point where further arguing is unproductive.
