If you use string savers, how many do you put on each vertical string, how many would be considered abuse?
How many string savers are too many for each vertical string?

on my tighter stringbeds (6.0 85, PC600), I don't put any initially, just when the fraying starts (NXT 17 68 tour, I am not a heavy string breaker)
on my POG Mid, which is much sparser (14x18], thus a serious string eater, I am placing immediately after stringing 2 rows of 8, at 1/3 and 3/3 from the stringbed, in the center, perpendicularly on the grip axis.
thus I would say my max on a vertical string is about 2-3.
