How often do you restring?

In order to maintain optimal tension, feel and overall performance, how often should a player have his racket restrung?

Some vids on youtube and elsewhere allude to restringing as many times/year as you play during the week?
But of-course this depends on how hard you hit the ball and I guess using a lot of spin weakens the string quicker. I just bought a Babolat Pure Drive Cortex and I believe they put a 16g Hurricane Pro hybrid with Xcell Premium Pro if that helps.

If money is no issue, how often would you restring your racket?

If money wasn't an issue i'd have 8 Juice pros with all VS at 53 pounds and switch racquets after every hour of play....

but actually i go sensation 55 till it breaks. And if you're using Poly you sure restring once it goes dead so you don't get any arm problems from trying to put to much work on the ball.

Hmmm, so how would I go about telling whether my poly strings are 'dead'? Noticeable decline of power when coming off the strings?

There have been innumerable threads on this topic, and little agreement.
At one end you have "Restring every 10 hrs or 2wks" at the other you have "If it still feels good, don't worry about it" and in the middle you have " It breaks before it goes dead, so who cares?"

When you pull on Poly strings and it doesn't snap right back, it's pretty dead. It's usually around 8 hours of hitting for me but some strings last longer.

I've put about 7 hours on these strings after buying the racket last week. I can't even move the strings yet or pull on them as you say. Thanks for the tip!

depends on the string. I go through a full set of Tourna Big Hitter Silver 17g in 2 hrs, popped Gamma TNT2 17g in 3 hrs, popped Babolat Addiction in 1 hr. Usual string with Spinfire and 16g Nylon hybrid can go 2-3 weeks before going dead (10-12 sets of play)

depends on what level of a player you are. The players with great techniques who manage to get alot of action on the ball literally eat strings. What might be one hour for someone, eight hours for another could literally be 2 to 3 weeks for another player. I always believe it is when you get sense of the strings losing their bite, their fresh feeling and when you literally cannot get the same action on the ball that you got previously with the same shot. Secondly, when you pull the strings and they do not come back into place.

For me personally it is when the string loses its fresh feeling and to answer your question I mostly only play with polys and change them after two weeks.
