hybriding poly strings

Hi,

I received a reel of Solinco Tour Bite from a friend in 17G, which is too thin to use for me. Would it be ok to use this one as a cross string with another thicker poly in the mains? I was thinking of Solinco Revolution 16 or Tour Bite 16.

Why is it too thin? 17g is very durable. Does it have "too much spin"? It's a shaped poly. I personally wouldn't use it in the crosses.
