And I have rarely seen anyone like McEnroe when it comes to constantly changing whom to praise as "the one and only".
Look, McEnroe does vacillate at times, but what he's doing is praising/admiring Nadal's work ethic and competitiveness.
The comparison was to jimmy Connors -- it's not a GOAT proclamation.

Because it's pro-Nadal article and that's why OP posts it. Notice how OP never posts a pro-Djokovic, pro-Federer or pro-any other player article. Always pro-Nadal, never anyone else.
If a commentator says something pro Fed it's because they're paid off by big media.

If they say something pro Rafa it's just straight fax.

If they say something pro Novak they're just being contrarian.

Yes, that's exactly right.

Djokovic is CHOOSING to skip US due to his own agendas.

If he was smart, he'd take Johnson and Johnson's single dose vaccine or at least fake/pretend to take the vaccine ...this way he'd get a vaccine pass to travel anywhere.

But he is CHOOSING to be such an anti-vax that he won't even fake it. I mean there's probably several players who have faked taking the vaccine.. Djokovic has to be an idiot.
Djokovic has already tried to fake PCR tests and it landed him in detention in Australia. He better not try any fake documents in the US.

To be fair - I think I’ve always heard him praise Rafa for his effort and Fed for how much he loves the game and how awesome his play is.

But Rafa’s always been the greatest all out effort guy for Mac.

Notice how a guy named 'Jokervich' has a profile photo which is of Nadal in pain getting treated for a fractured rib. You're not really in a position to complain about anyone's conduct here.
Sigh, I explained this before but clearly you don't read, you just want to have a dig at me because you took offense to my post. I use that as an avatar because I found it funny how they zoomed in really close on Nadal's face when he was getting treatment. It could have been any other player, but it happened to be Nadal. I am not aware of another situation where they zoomed in on someone's face when getting treatment - if you know of one, I'd be happy to use that as my avatar if I think it looks better.

"But but but you're finding someone in pain funny" No, that's not what I said. You're deliberately taking my words out of context. The injury was serious and I sympathize with the pain he experienced.

He knows how to hype up players and create dramatic entertainment for viewers.

Yep, you gave the same trollish excuse before too. A guy named 'Jokervich' with a profile photo of Nadal in pain getting treated for a fractured rib speaks for itself. As for the cameras zooming in on the treatment, they have been doing that for years. It would be in poor taste from a hypothetical Nadal fan to choose a photo of Djokovic getting on court treatment and grimacing in pain as well.

But all Nadal haters will say he's faking it.

You mean a similar scenario to Djokovic winning this year’s Wimbledon? Where Medvedev was barred from entering, Zverev out injured, Berrettini out with Covid, Nadal pulled out with injury and Djokovic played a mix of players, none of whom were top 10 on his way to #21?
Like that?
Djokovic got lucky in Wimb 2022 for sure. Very lucky.
But Nadal probably won't in UsOpen 2022. For one thing, Novak might play. But even if he doesn't, Alcaraz and Sinner are rounding into form. Alcaraz finally might give the GS performance everyone is expecting.
And then there is Zverev and Medvedev. So pretty tough for Nadal, and he will need to be at his best, and serve much better than he did@Wimbledon.

Sinner and Norrie were ranked top-10 seeds. Sinner beat Alcaraz in an incredible match, he was certainly playing top-10, even top-5.
Van Rijthoven was undefeated on grass this year and crushed the world number #1 in a final.
Kyrgios plays top-5 on grass when he's at his best, every players know that. I'm sure Djokovic would rather play Nadal over Kyrgios on grass.
I've seen much easier draws than Wimbledon 2022. USO 2017, or AO 2018 come to my mind.
Lol. W2022 was the weakest slam of all time. To be talking up Van the Man says it all

Zverev wont be playing. No chance. Djokovic wont be as soccer players for huge clubs not vaxxed arent getting in.
Medvedev will be super pumped but his game cannot cope with Nadals.
sinner sadly is mentally weak. To smile after he lost to Djokovic means he lacks that burning desire to win.
alcaraz could well get his slam. The FO was never going to be is maiden slam as he is too naive point construction wise on clay . Wimbledon he was not fully fit. The Us Open though seems to me to be the theatre for him. I could see a Nadal v Alcaraz final if they are kept apart. Could be a match for the ages that one.
Also watch FAA. Got a bum draw in Wimbledon. That was bad luck. He has been solid at the slams apart from that and he also might be ready to step up .

He isn't doing that. It's grudging praise.

He likes Fed's game better but is admitting that Nadal is probably the grittiest player ever.

'I’ve never seen anyone like him' - John McEnroe hails 'unbelievable' Rafael Nadal ahead of US Open

“I’ve never seen anyone like him,” John McEnroe told Tennis365. "I thought Jimmy Connors tried hard until I saw Rafael Nadal, this is insane. And that’s the greatest quality he has, by far. I mean, the guy’s an unbelievable player, we all know that. But the fact that he can go out there and give that type of effort is something that people aspire to, but it’s very difficult to do."

“Otherwise, everyone would do it. I mean, you just say, well go to Nick Kyrgios and say ‘go out and give an effort, you’ll be No. 2, No. 3 in the world. Well, if it was that easy, I guess he would do it. But you know, for him, it isn’t."

The most spectacular tennis player of all time.

Yeah, it’s a great example of cognitive dissonance with that poster.
