WTA has honesty been quite good these last couple years. Osaka, Barty, Bencic, Andreescu, Kenin, Sabalenka & Keys are all fresh young blood players that are easy to get behind. Then you got the vets like Halep, Kvitova and Azarenka still hanging around and being very competitive with the top players. And of course, last but certainly not least, Serena is still trying to get through the finish line to become the all-time leader.

I'm more surprised she hasn't gotten it together yet. She seems/seemed like a sure bet for several years now. Not much has changed other than underwhelming Slam results. The female Zverev, maybe?

I hope so too. I think she has the power and good enough return game. It's just going to take her a little longer than I anticipated to keep her nerve for 2 weeks.
