I used a Babolat Pure Drive all summer. (57 Poly)

I played pretty much every day, and have no arm issues at all.
Should I continue to play this racket?
What is it known for?

I feel strokes are everything, rackets are like 5%.

Good for you. I know several 3.0 women who use a Pure Drive with very ugly strokes but they don't get tennis elbow. On the other hand I am friends with a 4.0C guy who played college tennis who has very nice strokes but he got tennis elbow from his Pure Drives. He plays with a Pure Control Tour now.

This 4.0C also beat a 5.0C at Mobile in singles at 4.5 Sectionals in July this summer. The 5.0 was playing under his 4.5 ESR. His stokes are plenty clean, but he can't play with a stiff Pure Drive like many other players.

If you can win with a PD without TE, why change.

If the racquet is working for you and you have no arm issues then why not just continue with It? No reason not to.

As long as you don't use the stiffest poly strings at high tension and you hit through the ball the Pure Drives are not as bad as people make them to be.

Ummm, no. If you're referring to tennis elbow, it's considered a repetitive use injury, which means you could be doing real damage and it may take longer than months to manifest itself. A few months doesn't mean there's no risk of further use.

Still not a reason to quit playing with it. If I am silly for saying to keep playing with it, it is just as silly to stay stop. (Yes, I know you weren't necessarily advocating stopping)

I am not sure what this post is about exactly? You say you’re playing well and have no issues so what exactly are you asking?

The 2013 pure drive play really surprised me when I hit with it a few weeks ago. Solid, head light, medium consistent power, tons of spin.

Despite what Babolat says, I'm sure it has a different layup from the horrible blue racquet.

There is a whole family of PDs so it is hard to comment.

I have tried the Tours, Roddicks and plus models and they all hurt bottom of elbow.

If you play like D Inglot then it may be the right frame but otherwise I would recommend something else, maybe a Yonex or RF 97A

This guy is correct. I believe I have tennis elbow from a combination of playing tennis and repetative movements at work. Really sucks to be sidelined for months. I would recommend to play a softer frame with softer strings if possible. Any way to reduce risk is a plus in my books. I thought I would never get it, and over the course of a few weeks, my elbow hurts just sitting here typing.

You can still find a powerful frame that is healthier on the arm. Dr 98+ is an excellent racquet, liked it very much. An angell 100 sq inch 63 ra is also an amazing frame that is safer on the arm. Gut/poly is supposedly a great combo for spin and more comfort, but I have yet to try it. There is a big thread on it in the string forums. Head velocity is an amazing string that is soft and has decent spin potential. Safer than gut/poly imo. Stay safe my friend, so you can enjoy tennis for years to come.

I am reducing my play to twice a week so I think I am out of the woods.
Unless playing less frequently increases the risk of TE ?

No, I don't think it would. It's an over use injury. All I'm saying is that I thought ide never get TE, but here I am. Better safe than sorry imo, any way to reduce risk is good.

What they mean is it won't show up so soon. Do you feel the frame sending shocks up your arm on off center hits? Not the dead sound you get on mishits, this is different. If you have experienced it, that's a fed flag.
