If Andy Roddick wins US Open, do you think James Blake will try harder? Cuz he'll be thinking, "maybe team America can dominate again, with Andy being the new Pete Sampras and James Blake being the new Andre Agassi."

I understand where you're going with this and I sure hope he doesn't need external motivation to be as good as he can be.

I'm holding out hope we haven;t seen the best of James Blake yet.

I don't know for sure, but I think Blake may have made the final if he hadn't drawn Fed's quarter.

And he could have beaten Fed, too, if he had just played the big points better.

He's doing very well lately, but he needs to continue to adapt his game to different surfaces and players better . . .

Hopefully he'll try harder and become less "nice" to his opponents, and get inspired by Andy Roddick as well.

I personally think Andy Roddick is a punk-ass little ***** (LOL), but Blake does seem like an awfully "nice" guy.

Blake is mellow, but he's well educated and has the courage on the court,
after what we've seen in the match against Federer.

If Andy can't produce that kind of showing against Federer, I think that will give Blake even more courage.

James Blake quit Harvard? That may be a bad decision. If he stayed in school, he might have made just as much money, without working as hard. What do you think?

Yes, because most Harvard grads have eight-digit bank balances.

If John Isner wins US Open, do you think Sock will try harder?

If I recall correctly, Blake actually tagged Roddick in the final of Washington that year.

And if anyone thinks this is trippy, go all the way back to the earliest posts available in early 04 - the time period when Fed hadn't quite turned into the engine of victory that he would soon become and also the last period when the men's game felt genuinely open. It's so odd reading posts that center around Agassi still having more to give at 33, Roddick being called boring because he was all power, the discussion about Sharapova before she won Wimbledon that year, to many asking what was up with Juan Carlos Ferrero.

(Note how I said open, and not 'weak'.)

EDIT: And then again, some things are constant from 2004 to 2015: http://tt.tennis-warehouse.com/showthread.php?t=7780

Blake is having a lot of shoulder problems, as revealed by his appearances on the PowerShare tour. I don't think he is physically prepared to return to the #ATP, even in a doubles capacity. #GirlBye

^ LOL, I already had that shock a few days back.

Probably some kind of sleeper account, or else he would have been perma-banned long back.

If you open ten year old threads, you often find the OP and several other people on the first page banned. Others just disappeared.

FFS,this clown was around making threads almost 10 years ago? What is life?

that guy was making threads almost a decade ago?

U CANNOT BE SRS

1. He often created 2 or more threads a day. And several in a 2-3 day period.

2. So many of his threads are about the Williams sisters !!!

3. Most of his threads die out within one or two pages.

Haven't paid much attention to him but he could be a harmless @fedace type :D

Yeah, think so. It's usually how it goes when you play with someone a lot. Then that person wins a big title and you realise that if he can, so can I.
