Who rates Edberg higher than Becker? The Federer-Nadal H2H was never that relevant to start with (especially without taking into account surface/conditions). There are a lot more important metrics.
Question: Why do some people rate Edberg higher than Becker - There H2H was 25-10 in Beckers favour.
Federer: I've been trailing Nadal since he turned 22, something that has haunted me all this time in my claim to undisputed GOAT. Now since Djokovic has surpassed Nadal, hallelujah, I'm off the hook.
Does reasoning work that way?
Some people on this forum. I don't think Becker has clearly achieved more. Those that rate Edberg seem to base it solely on their H2H at Wimbledon (Edberg leads 2-1 there). They don't look on the fact that Becker made 7 Wimbledon finals compared to Edberg's 3 or Becker won 3 Wimbledon's vs Edberg's 2. They ignore the fact that Becker won 5 Major season end finals (3 WTF, 1 WCT Finals, 1 Grand Slam Cup) vs 1 for Edberg (1 WTF) - at a time when indoor tennis was very important.Who rates Edberg higher than Becker?
Blah blah blah, who cares we’ll know who the GOAT is when Novak retires. Til then, just enjoy all 3
If they all finish with 20, Novak will (almost certainly) have 1 or more NCYGS, most YEC titles in history, most slam finals in history, most m1000 titles in history, most no1 year-ends in history, most no1 weeks in history, only guy in history to win all big tournaments, most dominant player in 1 year cycle in history (BOAT), with highest atp points record in history (16950), highest ELO record in history, and with positive h2h against Nadal and Federer.Actually, we won't. The three will retire with achievements so close to each other that none will be clear or undisputed GOAT.

The only way to really have a GOAT is if the achievements are so clear that even (reasonable) fans of the other players have to concede it. That is very unlikely to happen now, unless Rafa and Novak stop winning. In a way, the perfect thing for tennis would be for all three of them to end on 20 GS titles.

I'm sure these new people would be saying the same thing if Novak wasn't so close.
Those posters who believed that probably don't post here anymore. The new posters aren't following their footsteps because it would be silly to do that when Novak is closer to him than Nadal is to Fed. So they can't ignore the slam difference anymore because that would mean admiting Novak is better than Rafa.I don't understand what your post means. You have avoided answering my question.
None of this would matter. Federer plays with a one handed backhand which automatically makes him GOAT.If they all finish with 20, Novak will (almost certainly) have 1 or more NCYGS, most YEC titles in history, most slam finals in history, most m1000 titles in history, most no1 year-ends in history, most no1 weeks in history, only guy in history to win all big tournaments, most dominant player in 1 year cycle in history (BOAT), with highest atp points record in history (16950), highest ELO record in history, and with positive h2h against Nadal and Federer.
You're saying there are reasonable people not acknowledging this as a GOAT career?
