Supposedly the moon gets farther and farther away over the course of billions of years. So before, it would look HOOGE. As for seeing the life on earth from before... well that sounds interesting, but I'd need something pretty strong to protect myself.

You had better be able to swim and take some snorkelling gear with you as there were 100ft. high tides washing over the continents when the moon was still close to Earth.
