The way Djokovic was playing in 2011 he probably would've beaten the 2008-9 version of Nadal as well.
Djokovic and Nadal met at RG in 2011? If only!
Yeah, he didn't beat Federer in RG 2011 but he would have won against Nadal in RG 2008? Some brilliant logic there. Get over it, Nadal at his best is the better player on clay as much as Djokovic fans want to think otherwise.
You only see it when Djokovic plays well (and yes, he played great in 2011) but you refuse to see when Nadal plays great as well. Nadal in 2011 wasn't on his 2008-2009 level on clay, that is for sure. He was prime but not peak, I would say like that.Djokovic and Nadal met at RG in 2011? If only!

Absolutely agree. Djokovic’s run was historically great; Nadal’s merely very good.Don't get so triggered. The OP asked if there similar impressive stretches, and I showed there is one truly undeniable one.

Nadal's best 52 week period was MC 2008-Madrid 2009. Not within a calendar year, but objectively speaking this was his best period of play. Absolute peak Nadal on every surface.
It all ended when he lost to Soderling at the FO.
Yes, this loss changed his career. That being said Soderling deserves credit for this win IMO. That wasn't the best match Nadal played in his career but he was still good enough. I believe he would have won against any other player. This wasn't 2015 Nadal by any means.Wouldve been very interesting had he not met Soderling in that RG form. Though you probably would agree that Nadal was dead on his feet with all the tournaments he was playing, that a shock loss was coming somewhere. If it wasn't at RG 09, he would've probably withdrawn from Wimbledon regardless, or tasted his first early exit there since 2005.

Not sure I agree with this. I think their matches would've been closer if it was the Nadal of 08. I certainly believe he had already lost a step by 2011 .
IW and Miami went the distance, but probably Djokovic takes them against any Nadal on that form. But remember Miami was won on a tie break in the 3rd so that's how close it was.
I think peak 2008 Nadal beats any version of Djokovic on clay, and therefore wouldn't have lost Madrid and Rome.
I also believe Nadal was much better on grass in 08 than 2011, so that match would've been a lot closer. Djokovic won that fairly easily in 2011.
USO probably stays the same, as Nadal actually got better over the years there IMO.
But I think its ignorant to say 2011 Djokovic still beats 2008 Nadal anywhere.
