Is Serena going to Shenzhen?

The Race to the WTA Finals in Shenzhen is very intense this year. Barty, Pliskova, Halep and Andreescu are already qualified, Osaka and Kvitova are pretty safe too. There will be a huge contest for the last 2 places, but the question is, Is Serena going? The answer could change everything for the remaining players. She is currently 7th, with 3935 points. Konta, Sabalenka, Kenin and Keys seem too far ahead even if they still have a chance. Svitolina has 3781, Bencic has 3615, Bertens 3585, and the 3 are still playing in Beijing. With Serena, there are 2 places for these 4 players, but the 9th could be selected if Serena isn't going. She didn't play Wuhan and Beijing and I doubt she'll play one of the remaining tourmanents like Moscow.

Does anyone know if she is going (if she remains 7th or 8th)? Between Williams, Svitolina, Bencic and Bertens, who will be the last 2 participants?

Svitolina better qualify for it. She was excellent there the last time. But with no titles this year so far she can only blame herself if she misses out.

I imagine Serena will mostly focus on Slams from now on. She is still good enough to give herself a chance...
