Is Wimbledon a tennis championship or a glorified lawn care contest?

This year's edition was HORRIBLE. A far cry from the good old days.

Grandpa Djo-covid playing at like 50% of his peak level pushed his (MUG) competition aside with zero effort. A 400 year old INJURED Fedr made a deeper run than the Medvedev-Tsitsi-Zod comedy troupe (the so called 'contenders'). No comments regarding the Korda-Khachanov match, a new LOW in the history of grand slam tennis.:eek:

A foolish grandsire bullying the INEPT field is not what us tennis fans deserve.

People don't know how to play on grass even though all surfaces are the same or something.
Don't you know all surface plays same, Homogenization has happened but somehow young players don't know this, they forget to play by seeing grass while suddenly start playing good after seeing hc

So funny to hear Djokovic being described as 'Grandpa'. Doesn't seem like 5 mins since he and Murray were the young up-and-comers on the tennis scene. Where does the time go???

The best part of Wimbledon was everyone complaining how awfully high bouncing and slow the grass was lol.

if THAT was the result on “green clay” then how exactly do you think things would look on 1999 grass?

Djokovic would win until he’s 45.

Isner-Nishioka was the best match of the entire year from a pure evolutionary and spectacle perspective btw.

6’11” vs 5’6” and the 5’6” guy wins a 5 setter, on grass. It was like David and Goliath. ‘21 Wimbledon was worth it for that match alone imo.

Grandpa Djokovic playing at like 50% of his peak level pushed his (MUG) competition aside as effortlessly as 90's PETE. A 400 year old INJURED Fedr made a deeper run than the Medvedev-Tsitsi-Zod comedy troupe (the so called 'contenders'). No comments regarding the Korda-Khachanov match, a new low in the history of grand slam tennis.:eek:

Honestly, Wimb wasn't high bouncing anymore after 2008-ish.

Were there similar threads when Federer made 7 consecutive Wimbledon finals and won 5 in a row playing mostly from the baseline (except in 2003)?

Although lawn courts are thirsty, which is why we have clay, acres of lawn are better than acres of hardcourt.
