With just 500 pts separating Murray, Del Potro and Djokovic, any of the three could end the year at #3. I hope Del Potro can get there so the three guys who won all the slams this year would end up #1, 2, and 3.

Think they all have potential to play phenomenal tennis but I went with Del Potro. At the open (especially the final) he realized his potential. If he can take confidence from that then he stands a good chance going indoors. Think Djoko second best chance with Murray third on the list.

That said, sometimes players go into a funk after they win a major for whatever reason ala Ana Ivanovic.

It will probably be Murray. He's still the best in hard court masters and Del Potro will have to keep himself grounded after winning his 1st major in order to keep up his consistency. I think it's more likely for Djokovic to pass Del Potro than for Del Potro to pass Murray.

I think Del Potro will almost certainly pass Djokovic, with a very good chance to pass Murray.

As for passing Rafa, we'll have to see. His best chance would be in the early hard court season, starting of course with the AO.

I'd like to know where all of the top six will be playing. Apparently, as of now, Nadal is still playing Thailand and Beijing along with Shanghai, Paris and London.

Not much chance. He would have to do alot better than Djokovic this fall, huge point difference to make up even eliminating Djokovics year end title points and Roddick isnt typically a tremendous indoor player.

Yes thats correct, but at the end of the 12 month world rankings = race rankings. Race rankings doesn't tell much at the beginning of the season but towards the end its a good indication of players performance so far in the year in relative to everyone else.

Well, Nadal will be out at least a month with that abdominal tear. If Delpo wins a Masters and does well at the YEC (SF or F), he can make up those points.
