Joachim Johansson setup

Joachim Johansson uses a very tightly strung Head Prestige. Anyone know what string & tension he plays ? He is one of the best servers on the tour, ofcourse being 6'6 helps  He just beat blake for the 2nd week in a row, this time at Memphis 3 & 3 :!: Wonder how fast he would be serving using the Roddick PD setup :?

Hey mate, i strung for Joachim in Sydney earlier this year, i've got all of his racquet and string specs in a book at my work, im leaving for there in about 5 minutes, so i'll bring the book home and let you know aiiiiight.. take care

That would be cool. I forgot to mention that when he beat Blake yesterday, his average serves were around 130mph and he made close to 80% of his first serves. How about that for a recipe to success

Joachim Johansson has the BIGGEST game I have ever seen. This guy has the biggest forehand I have ever seen, bigger than Roddick's or Blake's. He also has a big, consistent serve and can cream his one-handed backhand. I sat courtside for his matches last week against Blake and Roddick at the Siebel and I was just amazed.

Look for this guy to rise up in the rankings and do big things in the future. Perhaps a GS title or two.

The more I hear about Johannson, the more excited I get to see him play. The question is, "Will these ESPN morons ever put him on tv?" How can the game of tennis ever grow, if people aren't given the chance to see up and coming talent? I still haven't been able to see Rafael Nadal play. Unfortunately, the tennis chanel is not offered in my area, so I guess I am just sh** out of luck again.

Sorry guys, I saw J. Johansson play Fish at the US Open last year and to be 100% percent honest, I would have given Fish a better match than Johansson.

He was hitting a big serve, when it was in that is, and didnt impress me off the ground. He also NEVER came in. H e just reminded me of Verkerk or Hanescu, big guy that gets streaky and can be hard to deal with if all engines are firing, but if off a little, its 2&2 for any joe across the net.

I guess Johansson must have improved quite a bit from last year. He seems steadier now, will come to net occasionally, and is mentally tougher, as evidenced by his match against Roddick last week. He didn't cave in after losing the first set 6-3, but instead took Roddick to 9-7 in the 2nd set tiebreaker.

He reminds me of seeing Carlos Moya at the '96 U.S. Open, when I had never even heard of Moya, let alone see him play. I was like, "Who is this guy with his long hair and rock star look with a big forehand?". Well, less than 6 months later he was in the Australian Open final against Sampras, and less than two years later, he wins the French Open.

We'll see what Johansson can do in the future. He definitely has the talent. The question is: Can he put it all together at the right time?

Saw Johansson play roddick at the siebel, he had better groundies than roddick by far, he was routinely hitting backhand winners, and he just had a massive forehand, roddick couldn't even hit a forehand because of him, unfortunately roddick's serve bailed him out, and johansson had a few double faults, but i could definitely see him winning a few majors in 2-3 years. I think he could beat pretty much anyone on the tour with his game right now.

I was a ballkid for his match at Siebel vs. Roddick, and like I've said many times before, he has much better groundstrokes than Roddick. HUGE GAME, huge serve, forehand was relatively flat, very deep, and just paced off the ying yang. His backhand was good slice, could take it early, hit big angle, and rip it. He has a groundie game from hell. I love this guys game, can't wait to see him on the tennis channel tomorrow.....

Johansson is a replica of Juan Ignacio Chela. Style and looks right down to the way he wears his cap on backwards. Quite boring actually.

Are you sure you mean Chela? J. Johansson looks nothing like Chela IMO.
