Juan Martin del Potro pulls out of Brisbane, in doubt for Sydney and AO

is there something Delpo could do, or could have done, with his technique to help the wrists?

maybe use a head heavier racquet and looser strings.

that highlight vid shows how good Delpo was on defensive because of his very long reach and good speed for such a big guy!

i also wish Delpo would maybe have taken his fitness a little more seriously, i doesn't seem like he trained as hard as some of the other top players.

although as a Nadal fan, i must admit that having a healthy Delpo on tour would have affected him quite negatively IMO...

Yep, Delpo has such a calm demeanor about him in addition to his big weapons, just the kind of player that can trouble rafa.

I think that the major problem in his situation, is his state of mind and his ruined self-confidence due to these pains.

I mean he made the hard decision -surgery- knowing that he has to run like a mad just to catch up the top players, after a whole year of absence.

And now, when he is about to pick his training for the upcoming events and Australian Open, he faces the problem again, even after the surgery. Of course it could be a post-operational pain, due to the procedure of his joint to "rearrange" in terms of strength-elasticity, but I am pretty sure that he cant stop thinking of a potential career end...at least in the level of competition he can deliver...

Worst thing in an athlete...kinda in all humans...is self-confidence...when you stop to believe that you can overcome everything...it's a serious life changer...

I really wish him all the best for the new year and I hope he still hopes...

Dismal news, I was really looking forward to his return in Brisbane. I hope his injury doesn't keep thwarting him. Though, any tournament he enters in any time in this year, and if he shows good signs, would be a great resurgence.
