Yes. The socalled jump is the natural propelling action of the stroke. "For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction" which means if you push against the ground the ground pushes back. In an athletic stance if you bend your knees and then as you execute your stroke you raise your knees (and push against the ground), the socalled jump will occur. Let this occur naturally; do not try to make it happen!
Obviously, when you use all the available forces i.e. from the ground, legs, abs, trunks, arm, wrist-hand, and the racket, the result will be a powerful shot.
