jumping into serve

I've found I am more balanced and able to jump (front foot lands first in court while back foot kicks toward fence) into serve using pinpoint stance rather than platform. Does anyone else find this true?

i dont quite know about the balance factor, but for me i do jump, and lean WAAAAAY into my serve after moving my weight forward by brining my feet together. my front foot lands first, but this is fairly common for most of us who jump into the serve. oddly enough though most of my loft comes simply pushing up to the ball, im not trying to jump into it in all actuality.

Since watching the sonic serve video, I concentrate on getting a good hip stretch and maintainting it. I stopped worrying about my final stance to prevent it from interfering. If I end up dragging the back foot forward, so be it. Maybe I will focus more on keeping a platform when I am more of an expert at the hip stretch, but for now, not worrying about it is working well because it is enabling me to accomplish the more important aspects of the serve.

I was previously sold on the platform stance, but now I'm not so sure if platform vs pinpoint makes much of a difference. That's another reason why I'm just kinda letting it happen.

Vin,
Thanks for the info. I am ordering Sonic Serve Video today. Hope it helps me as much as it helped you.
