I am currently using ncode 6.1 95. I like it alot, but it can be a tad heavy. I recieved the grade 2 sponsorship from vantage so I decided to replace my 3 Ncode's with three vantage 100 square inch, 320 grams, 27", 9 points headlight.

Paul has been extremely flexible in his dealings with me, he is sending me out one built frame to my specs, and the bag hat shirt strings o grips etc. If the specs are right, he will send me the other two to match, if not I will ship the racquet back to him and he will send me another one to try. Once I am happy I will have three matched frames.

The grade 2 sponsorship is priced very well, you are basically paying a similiar price per frame for a "big brand" racquet, and getting the goodies--bag hat shirt string overgrips and CUSTOMIZATION for free.

iscottius,

When you were discussing specs with Paul, did you go into swingweight at all and why, since you were using the nSix-One, did you opt for the 100sq frame instead of just a 95sq?

Can I also ask, what sort of tennis background do you have that you were able to gain sponsorship?

Andrew,
I had paul send me a 100 square in frame, It was very nice feeling racquet, except it was too powerful for me, So as always__Vantage/Paul is taking it back and sending me the same specs in the 95 head racquet>

specs are:

95
27
320
10 pts
16 x 19
guestimated swingweight with Paul's input low 320's

as for my qualifications for sponsorship, i filled out the form on the website. I am the captain and play for a successful 4.5 team, I have won my club championship and have won or been a finalist in a few local tournaments. I also have two children who I am teaching as well.

If you want to buy vantage, the half price sale is equal to the sponsorship.

I will keep you posted when the 95's arrive.

Iscottius,

When you originally registered for the sponsorship on the form did it just say that it sent it, or did u have to take it and send it urself? I just filled one out and it sent it. I am also wondering how long it takes to receive a response from Vantage?

Thank You

I like the idea of Vantage (and the look of the frames!) - and applied for the sponsorship to see what would happen. It took a month or so, but I was told I had grade 2 - which is a nicely priced deal for 2 racquets + gear; maybe 2/3 normal price? And then any stuff you buy after that is also cheaper. By the time it came through the season had started and I had already kitted up, so I didn't take it up; I thought I might do it next season if I wanted more racquets.

I did, however, order a matched pair of frames in the half price sale - which took the price down from about $AUD440 (grade 2) to $AUD300 delivered. I don't get the bag and extras, but I was also happy about not feeling any need to be an ambassador if I didn't want to.

So I'll see what they're like; I was reassured that an email I sent through via the feedback was answered within 24hrs - I'm sure they're busy at the moment. I expect the frames may take a while to arrive.

By the way - I'm no great player; I'm a 44 yo relative newcomer playing his first year of comp on grass in Div 3. I said this on the form.

A few people have managed to speak to Paul, I have and he said he did not expect the sale to be so popular... he will be very busy for a while building racquets!

This should tell him that he has a fabulous idea in his company, but that they might be priced too high... I'm not sure if you can make the business work at a lower price, but if he's looking for more sales, I think he's only a few price cuts away. 50% is steep, but that's a great way to get your product in people's hands. If he discounted it 25%, maybe more people would buy... if you can get a custom racquet for the same price as a stock one, who wouldn't do that? Of course I have no idea how his business was doing before this sale.
